On the afternoon of November 1, the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum held a ceremony to announce the exhibition space of the Le Ba Dang Art Collection, witnessed by Mr. and Mrs. Le Tat Luyen - Thuy Khue, who preserve many works of art by the world famous painter Le Ba Dang and donated the collection to the museum.
Previously, in July 2023, the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts was presented with a collection of 253 artifacts by Mr. and Mrs. Le Tat Luyen - Thuy Khue (living and working in France), including 131 artworks by painter Le Ba Dang and 16 stone sculptures, 19 zinc prints, 71 molds, and 16 of his crafting tools.

After receiving and completing the scientific records for each artifact in the collection, Da Nang Fine Arts Museum renovated and adjusted part of the thematic exhibition space on the 3rd floor into the exhibition space of the Le Ba Dang Art Collection.
The collection displays 38 artifacts and 113 documents including paintings, statues, carpets, books, documents, and tools made from various materials with rich themes and content about the natural beauty, people, and culture of Vietnam, covering the artist's creative stages.

This is a space to honor the world-famous painter Le Ba Dang, and at the same time introduce the collection to the public who love visual arts in Da Nang in particular and tourists across the country in general.
Mr. Ha Thanh Van, Director of the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum, said that in 2023, the museum was very excited to receive the news that Mr. and Mrs. Le Tat Luyen - Thuy Khue donated paintings, artifacts, documents... of the famous painter Le Ba Dang. The collection with many materials and styles shows the artistic creation process of the famous painter Le Ba Dang in France.

"We are extremely grateful and thankful for the good feelings that Mr. and Mrs. Le Tat Luyen - Thuy Khue have given to the museum and Da Nang. We will preserve and promote the value of the collection of famous painter Le Ba Dang to serve the public who love this art form," said Mr. Ha Thanh Van.
Notably, according to Ms. Nguyen Thi Trinh, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum, to create unique works of art, the famous painter Le Ba Dang used many molds and shaping tools... Those artifacts have been preserved until today and are on display. When viewing the artifacts, the public can imagine how the famous painter Le Ba Dang used them when creating.

Da Nang Fine Arts Museum is the only place that owns the set of tools that the famous painter Le Ba Dang used to create his works.
Painter Le Ba Dang (born in 1922, from Quang Tri province) is a famous Vietnamese visual artist living in France.
He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse, France. He is known to the world for many prestigious art awards, being awarded the American Artist of Talent and Humanitarian Thought Award in 1989; being voted a World Celebrity by the UK in 1992; and being awarded the French Order of Arts and Culture in 1994.
Although living and working in France, Le Ba Dang always turned his attention to his homeland. He and famous artists such as Picasso, Matta... called on artists and intellectuals around the world to participate in the Vietnam Knowledge Day to support peace and oppose the war in Vietnam.
In 2005, he was honored to receive the Medal of Resistance against America for National Salvation and many other noble awards and certificates of merit from the State.
Since 2002, he frequently returned to Vietnam and established the Le Ba Dang Center in Hue in 2006. He passed away on March 7, 2015 in Paris.
