Basketball competitions are held in two formats: 5x5 and 3x3.

(CT) - According to the newly issued regulations for the 10th National Sports Games in 2026 for the basketball event, the 5x5 competition will take place from November 19th to 30th; the 3x3 competition will be held from December 1st to 7th. The competition venue is Tan Binh Gymnasium, Tan Son Nhat Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Each unit is allowed to register one men's team and one women's team for the 5x5 and 3x3 basketball competitions. For the 5x5 competition, each team can register a preliminary roster of 21 members, including 5 staff members and 16 athletes (maximum 16 athletes, minimum 10 athletes). For the 3x3 competition, each team can register a preliminary roster of 12 members, including 4 staff members and 8 athletes (maximum 8 athletes, minimum 3 athletes). Teams will finalize their official rosters at a technical meeting with the Organizing Committee and the Referees Committee, as stipulated in the Basketball Rules.

Athletes must be 18 years of age or older. Foreign athletes who have acquired Vietnamese citizenship or overseas Vietnamese athletes who have acquired Vietnamese citizenship must present a citizen identification card and a contract with their managing organization, signed before January 1, 2026.
