KL - a candidate for the 2025 high school graduation exam, using the C00 combination (Literature, History, Geography) for admission to Ho Chi Minh City Banking University, said that before registering his wishes, he carefully consulted the criteria and proposals set forth by the school, including the following: Admission combinations with Math and Literature, or Math or Literature must achieve a minimum score of 6 points or higher (on a 10-point scale, for other methods, Math and Literature scores are converted to the corresponding 10-point scale).
After carefully reading the school's admission plan, KL chose the Economic Law major according to his wishes. However, on August 24, he received information that the above criteria had been revised, the school required that for the Law major group, candidates must have a minimum score of 6 or higher in Math and Literature on a 10-point scale.
Upon hearing the news, the female student was "desperate" and immediately looked up previous admission notices. KL said that the school "had secretly changed the admission requirements for the Law group".
In groups, KL saw many candidates in the same situation as her, with exam scores higher than the school's admission standards but still failing because the school changed the additional criteria in Math and Literature.

Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City.
On the official Facebook page, the post of Ho Chi Minh City Banking University received tens of thousands of angry views and hundreds of comments from parents and candidates about the shortcomings in enrollment.
“I am the parent of a candidate applying for the Economics and Law major at the school. I have sent a complaint letter to the school's official email address. If the school's board of directors and admissions board still do not have an official and satisfactory answer, I will file a lawsuit." "Only children who are weak in Math have to choose the C00 combination, but the school requires Math above 6. No student chooses the A01 and A00 combinations. It is really sad for a top school" - comments from parents whose children applied for admission to Ho Chi Minh City Banking University.
On the morning of June 28, Ho Chi Minh City Banking University spoke up about this issue. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung, principal, said that after announcing the benchmark scores on August 22, the school received some feedback from candidates through the media about the results being higher than the benchmark scores but not yet receiving admission notices.
The school offers solutions for the Law, Economic Law, Economic Law (partial English) majors, the minimum total admission score is 18 (calculated on a 30-point scale). Subject combinations including Math and Literature, or Math, or Literature must achieve a minimum of 6 points or more on a 10-point scale. For other methods, Math and Literature scores are converted to the corresponding 10-point scale.
Thus, this announcement changes in a direction that is favorable to candidates compared to the previous announcement.
Mr. Trung said that to ensure admission confirmation before 5:00 p.m. on August 30, candidates with questions about the admission results should send information to the admissions department. The school is committed to ensuring that candidates who meet the admission requirements for the Law, Economic Law, and Economic Law (partial English) majors will be considered for admission and enrolled at the school in accordance with regulations.
