VOV.VN - As General Secretary and President, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has welcomed many heads of state and leaders of countries around the world to visit Vietnam. VOV Online Newspaper would like to introduce images of some of the receptions and talks of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
On June 20, 2024, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong held talks with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on a state visit to Vietnam.
The two sides agreed to continue enhancing mutual understanding and trust. Accordingly, they will promote visits and exchanges at all levels through Party, State and National Assembly channels, actively develop economic -trade, investment, scientific and technological cooperation and strengthen defense and security cooperation.
On December 12, 2023, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and his wife chaired the official welcoming ceremony for General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and his wife on a state visit to Vietnam.
At the talks after the welcoming ceremony, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed the consistent foreign policy of the Party and State of Vietnam: independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification and multilateralization of foreign relations, as well as the "4 no's" defense policy.
On September 10, 2023, at the Presidential Palace, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong chaired the welcoming ceremony for US President Joe Biden during his two-day state visit to Vietnam on September 10 and 11, 2023.
This is the first time a US President has paid a state visit at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, and the visit takes place on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the two countries establishing a Comprehensive Partnership.
On December 11, 2023, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received a high-ranking delegation of the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia led by Prime Minister and Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Hun Manet.
On August 28, 2023, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's visit took place on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1973 - 2023) and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Strategic Partnership.
On June 23, 2023, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol on a state visit to Vietnam. The General Secretary emphasized that the relationship between the two countries has been tested by time and has the prospect of further development, for the benefit of the people of both countries.
On June 4, 2023, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received Labor Party leader and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on an official visit to Vietnam. The visit took place on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (1973-2023).
On November 14, 2022, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on an official visit to Vietnam.
On October 21, 2022, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the occasion of his official visit to Vietnam. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong highly appreciated Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' visit on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of Vietnam becoming an official member of the United Nations.
On May 1, 2022, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and a high-ranking delegation from the Japanese Government for a courtesy visit on the occasion of an official visit to Vietnam.
