Mourinho resigns from UEFA Football Council after heavy penalty

On the evening of June 21, UEFA announced the punishment for coach Mourinho - a 4-match ban (in UEFA competitions), along with a fine for making offensive and insulting statements to referee Anthony Taylor, who officiated the Europa League final, AS Roma 1-1 Sevilla (after which the La Liga representative won 4-1 in the penalty shootout).

In this match, the English referee made controversial decisions, accused by Mourinho of pressuring AS Roma and favoring Sevilla.

After the match, Mourinho “ambushed” the car park and poured out harsh words to the referee in black, calling the decisions of referee Taylor and his assistants a “disgrace”.
