The Vietnam Fatherland Front received 12 billion VND from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the overseas Vietnamese community to support people affected by storms and floods.

(Chinhphu.vn) - On October 16, Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, received support from the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the overseas Vietnamese community in the amount of 12 billion VND to share with people in provinces heavily affected by storms and floods.

Presenting the donation to the Central Relief Mobilization Committee - Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs shared that, in response to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to mobilize support for compatriots to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 10, on the morning of October 3, 2025, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a launching ceremony calling on all officials and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the overseas Vietnamese community to actively support materially and spiritually the compatriots in the provinces that are suffering from storms and floods.

"As of October 13, 2025, the amount of donations from the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the overseas Vietnamese community was more than 12 billion VND and more than 5,000 USD. Most of the above amount has been deposited into the account of the Central Relief Mobilization Committee - Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front", said Mr. Le Hoai Trung.

According to Mr. Le Hoai Trung, representative agencies and Vietnamese communities abroad are continuing to organize fundraising activities. The donations will continue to be collected and transferred to the Central Relief Mobilization Committee's account as soon as possible.

Expressing his appreciation for the role and proactiveness of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the face of the heavy losses caused by floods, Mr. Le Hoai Trung shared that the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and overseas Vietnamese hoped that this amount of money would contribute to the Party and State to promptly support the people of the provinces to have more motivation to overcome difficulties.

Receiving the precious sentiments, hearts, and support of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the overseas Vietnamese community, on behalf of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman Do Van Chien expressed his emotions and sent his thanks for the timely sharing with the people of the provinces who are making efforts to overcome the consequences of the floods.

Chairman Do Van Chien emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has always been a bridge in propagating and mobilizing overseas Vietnamese to join hands to support the country when it faces difficulties due to natural disasters and epidemics; at the same time, it has coordinated efforts to allocate support resources from international friends to people in provinces affected by storms and floods.

Referring to the damage caused by storm No. 10 and the circulation of storm No. 11 to provinces and cities in recent times, Chairman Do Van Chien shared that with the strong direction of the Politburo and the Secretariat, people in the provinces are focusing on overcoming and rebuilding their lives after the floods.

Along with the support resources of the Party and the State, up to this point, the amount of donations through the account of the Central Relief Mobilization Committee has reached over 1,000 billion VND, of which, Vingroup Corporation has initially donated 500 billion VND with a commitment to accompany the Vietnam Fatherland Front to provide timely support to families who have been severely affected by storm after storm, flood after flood in recent days.

Chairman Do Van Chien expressed his hope that in the coming time, every Vietnamese person, whether at home or abroad, will continue to promote the tradition of mutual love and care, love others as you love yourself, and each person has a heart to support people in flood-affected areas to have more resources to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.

Also on October 16, Chairman Do Van Chien received support from 5 universities under the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the amount of 2 billion VND.
