At this time, Ha Vy Boutique clothing rental store (Ly Tu Trong Street, Ha Tinh City) continuously updates new fashion models to serve the needs of students renting yearbook photos. From the beginning of February to June every year, especially in mid-April, the number of customers who need to rent costumes at the store increases by about 30-40% compared to normal days.

Ha Vy Boutique constantly updates new clothing models to serve the yearbook photography needs of students.

Ms. Le Ha Vy (Owner of Ha Vy Boutique fashion store) shared: “On occasions of taking graduation photos, most customers prioritize choosing rental costumes because of their usefulness and cost savings. With prices starting from only a few hundred thousand VND, customers can rent and use for 3 days. Grasping that trend, our store constantly updates new designs, diverse in style and size to help meet the maximum needs of customers.

According to a survey, the current rental price of costumes for yearbook photos ranges from 100,000 - 500,000 VND/set, specifically, the rental price of ao dai ranges from 100,000 - 200,000 VND/set, evening gowns from 300,000 - 500,000 VND/set; shoes from 30,000 - 50,000 VND/pair; men's suits from 150,000 - 300,000 VND/set...

“To have a yearbook photo album with a strong student character, most young people in Ha Tinh choose to rent white ao dai in groups. Along with traditional designs, innovative and modern designs have also become attractive in the past 1-2 years. Besides students, many parents also choose to rent costumes to capture beautiful moments with their children, so some evening gown designs are also very popular,” added Ms. Le Ha Vy.

Besides ao dai and vest, accessories such as hats and shoes are also displayed in a variety of ways.

At studios and photo shops in Ha Tinh, the busy working atmosphere has also been going on for about a month now. Most customers who want to take photos have to contact and make an appointment 2-4 weeks in advance. At times, many studios have to refuse customers because of overlapping schedules, especially during peak months and weekends.

Mr. Phan Xuan Dung (photographer at Phuc To Studio, Cam Xuyen town) said: “Since the end of March, our studio has continuously received orders for graduation photos. The number of customers has increased 2-3 times compared to normal days. Up to now, the weekends in April are all "full", some customers have to change the shooting time to May. Besides adding 2-3 more photographers, we also have to focus on post-production to bring customers the highest quality products."

According to Mr. Dung, currently, the price of taking yearbook photos ranges from 200,000 - 600,000 VND/student. For classes with higher requirements on concepts (shooting style), shooting time and number of edited photos, the price can go up to millions.

“The graduation season lasts for 2-3 months, so we have to work at full capacity to increase our income. Working in hot weather, traveling a lot, and having to constantly be creative is quite tiring, but we are also happy to help students preserve many beautiful memories of their school years,” said Mr. Dung.

Graduation season is considered a "profitable" season for studios and photographers.

To get beautiful pictures, besides preparing costumes and hiring a professional "flash photographer", you also have to invest in taking care of your appearance. That is also the reason why makeup services become "attractive" during the graduation season. Currently, makeup prices range from 150,000 - 250,000 VND/person. For customers who require highly skilled makeup artists, the price will be "higher".

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh (Owner of Linhsan Makup Acedamy, Cam Xuyen town) said: “During the graduation season, the number of customers booking makeup appointments ranges from 10-20 customers/week, sometimes up to more than 30 customers/week. However, instead of accepting customers en masse, my shop only accepts 4 customers/session to ensure quality, meet the maximum wishes of customers, and bring you the most outstanding appearance to freely take pictures. Currently, it is the peak season for graduation photo shoots, the shop has to recruit 5-6 more highly skilled employees to meet the makeup trends that are popular with many students such as: clear, natural, highlighting personal beauty...".

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh - a student at Phan Dinh Phung High School (Ha Tinh City) shared: "To prepare for the yearbook photo shoot, my class discussed and agreed on shooting styles, learned about photography services, costume rental, makeup... Most of the members of the class wanted to preserve the moments of their student days, so we prioritized taking photos in the school yard with friends and relatives. With the price of 350,000 VND/person, I think it is very suitable and worthy."

Yearbook photos not only record meaningful moments of student life but also provide students with the “luggage” to embark on new journeys. “Preempting” the trend of yearbook photos not only helps service stores in Ha Tinh increase sales but also facilitates the preparation stage to help students and parents have beautiful and meaningful photo albums.
