Thunderstorms from North to South

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and early this morning (August 16), the Northern, Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions had scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of over 60mm such as: Kien Lao station (Lao Cai) 68.4mm; Dam Ha station (Quang Ninh) 67.4mm; Hoang Mai station (Nghe An) 150.4mm; Di Linh station (Lam Dong) 79mm...

It is forecasted that from today until the night of August 17, thunderstorms will continue to occur in the Northeast, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An with rainfall from 50-120mm, some places over 250mm.

In the Central and Southern Highlands, rainfall is generally 30-60mm, with some places experiencing very heavy rain over 120mm.

Many places have very heavy rain.

In the Northwest region, from Ha Tinh to Hue and the South Central Coast, rainfall is 15-35mm, locally over 80mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain (>100mm/3h). Thunderstorms are likely to cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.

Weather nationwide on Saturday (August 16), Hanoi capital is cloudy, with moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain. Light wind. Lowest temperature 24-26 degrees. Highest temperature 30-32 degrees.

Northeast region is cloudy with moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain. Light wind. Lowest temperature 22-25 degrees. Highest temperature 28-31 degrees, some places above 31 degrees.

From Thanh Hoa to Hue, it is cloudy. In the North (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An), there is moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain; in the South, there are scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain. Light wind. Lowest temperature 24-27 degrees. Highest temperature 30-33 degrees.

The South Central Coast is cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy to very heavy rain (rain is concentrated in the afternoon and at night). Southwesterly winds level 2-3. Lowest temperature 24-27 degrees. Highest temperature 31-34 degrees.

Central Highlands cloudy, moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain (rain concentrated in the afternoon and night). Southwest wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature 19-22 degrees. Highest temperature 27-30 degrees, some places over 30 degrees.

The South is cloudy with moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, with some places having very heavy rain (rain is concentrated in the afternoon and at night). Southwest wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature 23-26 degrees. Highest temperature 29-32 degrees, some places above 32 degrees.

Ho Chi Minh City is cloudy with moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, with some places experiencing very heavy rain (rain is concentrated in the afternoon and at night). Southwesterly winds level 2-3. Lowest temperature 24-26 degrees. Highest temperature 30-32 degrees.
