A sudden thunderstorm and tornado in Lao Bao town caused many houses to have their roofs blown off and trees to fall.

This evening, March 28, information from the People's Committee of Lao Bao town (Huong Hoa district) said that the locality is urgently directing the statistics and overcoming of damage caused by the sudden thunderstorm and tornado this afternoon.

Accordingly, at around 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, thunderstorms occurred in Lao Bao town. At 5:10 p.m., a tornado with strong winds began to blow. In a short time, the tornado caused 27 houses to have their roofs blown off, 10 signs to fall, more than 40 trees to fall, and damaged more than 1 hectare of vegetables.

Chairman of Lao Bao Town People's Committee Le Ba Hung said that immediately after the tornado passed and the rain stopped, the locality urgently mobilized forces to cut down fallen trees on the main roads in the town center.
