The Vinh Hung National Special Archaeological Site (formerly Vinh Hung A Commune, Vinh Loi District, Bac Lieu Province) is currently located in Chau Thoi Commune, Ca Mau Province.
Here is a thousand-year-old ancient tower (commonly called Vinh Hung ancient tower) discovered in 1911. This ancient tower is the only remaining Oc Eo culture architecture in the Southwest.

According to Dan Tri reporter, Vinh Hung ancient tower is located on a flat area of dozens of square meters, nearly 1 meter lower than the existing relic yard.
On July 17, through the reporter's observation, a part of the vast water tower area was overgrown with weeds.

Mr. Le Anh Duy, a manager at the relic site, said that during the heavy rain for about 2 hours, the water flooded up to the first step of the tower's foot.
According to Mr. Duy, the relic staff used a water pump system to pump the water out but could not handle it in time.

"We hope that the provincial authorities will soon consider overcoming this flooding situation," Mr. Duy suggested.
Vinh Hung archaeological site is one of the famous tourist attractions in the former Bac Lieu province (now Ca Mau province).
In 1992, the Vinh Hung archaeological site was recognized as a national monument by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). On July 18, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 694/QD-TTg on the ranking of the Vinh Hung archaeological site as a special national monument.
