According to initial reports from Can Loc district, heavy rains lasting from last night to the morning of November 13 caused many roads in the area to be flooded and residential areas to be cut off. Heavy rains also forced many schools in the area to close.
As of noon today, heavy rain is still falling in Can Loc and Loc Ha districts. In particular, heavy rain has caused National Highway 1A passing through Nghen town of Can Loc district to be flooded with more than 20 cm of water, making it difficult for vehicles to travel.
Mr. Dang Tran Phong, Chairman of Can Loc District People's Committee, said that he has directed localities to proactively monitor the situation closely and prepare timely response plans and strategies to the complicated developments of floods. The police, military , militia and local forces have deployed forces and are ready to respond and help people evacuate when necessary.
In Loc Ha district, heavy rain also caused many roads in the communes of Thach Chau, Ho Do, Ich Hau, Thach My... to be flooded, making it impossible for people and vehicles to travel. The police force blocked many roads, warned of safety risks, and prohibited people from traveling.
On the other hand, heavy rains also caused many winter vegetable fields to be flooded and potentially damaged. Some schools were flooded and had to stop teaching and learning, and the school asked parents to come to school to pick up their children to ensure safety.
