Specifically, the natural disaster killed 3 people (Son La, Thanh Hoa, Kon Tum ), injured 3 people (Son La, Nghe An, Kon Tum); 21 houses collapsed (Nghe An 6, Quang Ngai 15); 588 houses were damaged or had their roofs blown off (Ha Giang 330, Son La 1, Nghe An 129, Quang Binh 12, Hue 27, Quang Ngai 80, Kon Tum 7, An Giang 2); 51.32 hectares of rice and crops were damaged (Ha Giang, Quang Binh, Hue, Nghe An); 94.86 hectares of forestry trees were damaged (Ha Giang, Nghe An, Hue); 3 schools (Nghe An, Hue) and 2 agency headquarters (Quang Ngai) were affected.

Immediately after the disaster, local authorities visited and encouraged families with casualties, and mobilized functional forces to support people in overcoming the consequences and soon stabilizing their lives.

To proactively respond to weather patterns that tend to develop complicatedly in the coming days, the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control recommends that provinces and cities proactively deploy measures to respond to thunderstorms, localized heavy rains, tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind under the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment .

Accordingly, affected provinces and cities closely monitor warning bulletins and forecasts on weather developments, cold spells, heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, hail, strong gusts of wind, warnings of possible floods, flash floods, and landslides to promptly inform local authorities and people to proactively take appropriate preventive measures, prepare on-site forces, and continue to support people in overcoming consequences; strengthen inspection and review of areas at risk of floods, flash floods, and landslides to proactively warn and ensure people's safety when situations arise.

Coastal provinces and cities should closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of strong winds and high waves at sea; notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle possible bad situations.

Provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region and Ho Chi Minh City continue to proactively respond to peak saltwater intrusion according to Official Dispatch No. 15/CD-TTg dated February 17, 2025 of the Prime Minister.

Localities organize serious on-duty shifts and regularly report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (through the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control).
