Heavy rain, many roads in Dong Hoi city flooded

Many streets are deeply flooded, making traffic difficult.

Specifically, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting informed that today (October 30), in the area from Southern Nghe An to Phu Yen, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, especially in the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri and Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, there will be heavy to very heavy rain.

Rainfall from 7am to 3pm on October 30th was over 140mm in some places such as: Huong Thuy (Ha Tinh) 404mm, Quang Kim ( Quang Binh ) 187mm, Tinh Tho (Quang Ngai) 148mm,...

It is forecasted that from the afternoon of October 30 to October 31, in Ha Tinh area, there will be very heavy rain with total rainfall ranging from 100-200mm, in some places over 250mm; in the area from Quang Binh to Quang Tri, there will be heavy rain, in some places very heavy rain with total rainfall ranging from 80-150mm, in some places over 200mm.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the next 6 hours, there is a high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in many of the following districts:

Warning level of natural disaster risk due to flash floods, landslides, land subsidence due to heavy rain or water flow: Level 1, Ha Tinh only: Level 2.

Flash floods and landslides can have very negative impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives; cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy civil and economic works, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.
