Ta Van plum season in the highlands

The whole province currently has more than 700 hectares of Ta Van plum trees.

More than 100 Ta Van plum trees of Mr. Giang Seo Phu's family in Ta Van Chu commune, Bac Ha district are in the harvest season. Thanks to proper care, this year's plum garden has produced more, larger, and more beautiful fruits. Traders have come to the garden to buy them, and the price is also higher. It is estimated that this plum season, Mr. Phu's family will earn about 40 million VND. "In the past, we grew plums without techniques, so some years we had fruit, some years we didn't. Now, with technical guidance from the State, we make the most of manure and nitrogen fertilizer, so there are more fruits and higher prices," said Mr. Giang Seo Phu, Xa Van - Su Man Khang village, Ta Van Chu commune, Bac Ha district.

The family of Ms. Giang Thi Chu, in Seng Sui village, Lung Than commune, Si Ma Cai district, is not only happy because this year's plum harvest is good and the price is good, but the family's plum garden has also been chosen for tourists to visit and experience at the "Fragrance and color of Si Ma Cai highlands" festival taking place this weekend. "This year, the plums have produced many large and beautiful fruits, I am very excited... they came to ask to buy the whole plum and pear garden for 80 million VND but have not sold it yet, preparing for the plum festival, so they will leave it for everyone to visit and pick the fruit", Ms. Giang Thi Chu, Seng Sui village, Lung Than commune, Si Ma Cai district shared.

Guide people to apply science and technology to planting and caring for Ta Van plum trees.

Lung Than is the commune with the largest fruit growing area in Si Ma Cai with more than 538 hectares, of which 180 hectares are Ta Van plums. To increase the economic value of this key crop, the commune has focused on guiding people to promote the application of science and technology in production. "This year, Ta Van plum trees have higher productivity and are more effective, and the plums are ripening. Therefore, people are focusing on picking and selling them to the market. Regarding the preparation for the festival, the commune has propagated and mobilized people, as well as prepared logistics," said Mr. Hang Seo Quang, Vice Chairman of Lung Than Commune People's Committee, Si Ma Cai District.

With over 700 hectares of Ta Van plum, attention to scientific and technical guidance in production, along with promotional activities and product introduction, the joy of sweet fruit seasons will certainly continue to be extended, increasing income for the people.
