Health insurance premiums for students reduced

(QNgTV)- According to Vietnam Social Security, in the 2025-2026 school year, the health insurance premium for students will remain at 4.5% of the base salary, but the premium will decrease due to the budget support increasing from 30% to 50%. The current premium for this group is VND105,300 per month and VND1,263,600 per year.

From July 1, after receiving 50% support from the government, the students' payment will be 52,650 VND per month and 631,800 VND per year. Students can choose to pay periodically for 3 months, 6 months or 12 months. This group registers for health insurance at the educational institution where they are studying nationwide.

For children aged 0 to 6, the card is valid from the date of birth to September 30 of the year the child turns 72 months old. For children born after September 30, the card is valid from the date of birth to the last day of the month in which the child turns 72 months old. For children entering grade 1 who were born before September 30, the card is valid from October 1 of the first year of primary school; for grade 12 students, the card is valid until September 30 of that year.

For first-year students, the card is valid from the date of admission, except for the case where the card from grade 12 is still valid. Final-year students can use the card until the last day of the month the course ends.
