The race to sign Benjamin Sesko is heating up, with Manchester United emerging as the frontrunners. After losing Liam Delap to Chelsea and Viktor Gyokeres to Arsenal, the Old Trafford outfit are putting all their efforts into bringing in the young Slovenian striker from RB Leipzig.
Initially, MU was said to consider Ollie Watkins, but the price was too high compared to his age, plus Aston Villa did not want to sell, forcing the "Red Devils" to turn to Sesko. According to The Athletic , RB Leipzig asked for a transfer fee of up to 75 million pounds, not including performance bonuses and a percentage of future resale.
Although this is a very large number, especially in the context of MU's financial difficulties and having to sell players to balance the budget, the board of directors still identified Sesko as the number one target. Initial contact with Leipzig has been established and decisive negotiations are expected to take place next week.
There is no official agreement between the parties, but the acceleration of the deal shows that MU is determined to completely solve the problem of the attack, with the hope of bringing Sesko to Old Trafford soon to stabilize the squad from the beginning of the season.
