Celebrate the beginning of the year solemnly and warmly

Taking place in quite favorable weather, the longevity celebration in the spring of the year of the Dragon 2024 was solemnly organized by local authorities and families in Ha Tinh , bringing much joy to the elderly.

For a long time, organizing longevity celebrations in early spring for the elderly has become a beautiful traditional cultural feature of Vietnamese people in general and Ha Tinh people in particular. This is an opportunity for local authorities to show the State's concern in caring for the elderly; it is also an opportunity for children in each family to express their filial piety and gratitude to their parents and grandparents. Thereby, encouraging the elderly to live happily and healthily every day.

In the Spring of Giap Thin 2024, Ha Tinh has 29,097 elderly people from 70 to over 100 years old receiving longevity celebrations and wishes from the province (an increase of 2,560 people compared to 2023). Of these, 829 are over 100 years old, 378 are 100 years old, 2,269 are 90 years old, the rest are 95, 80, 85 and 70, 75 years old.

In the context of a stable socio -economic situation and favorable weather, the longevity celebration of the year of the Dragon 2024 was solemnly, warmly and joyfully organized by localities and people.

Mr. Mai Van Vien - Chairman of the Elderly Association of Hong Loc Commune (Loc Ha) said: "Along with the attention of authorities at all levels, this year, the organization of longevity celebrations and birthday wishes in our locality received enthusiastic response from families and people. Besides organizing a solemn and joyful ceremony to present certificates and congratulatory cards to the elderly at the village cultural house, families organized the ceremony at home in a civilized, cozy and economical manner."

Along with the longevity celebration organized by the government at the village cultural house, Mr. Cu The Ky and Mrs. Pham Thi Hanh (both 80 years old, in Trung Son village, Hong Loc, Loc Ha) were happy when their children and grandchildren organized the ceremony at their home.

This year, the whole Hong Loc commune has 168 elderly people from 70 to over 100 years old being celebrated and wished longevity, of which, there are 3 elderly people who are 100 years old and 2 elderly people who are over 100 years old. To bring a solemn, warm and joyful atmosphere to the elderly, 7/7 villages of the commune organized a collective celebration and longevity blessing ceremony for the elderly at the village cultural house.

Ms. Cu Thi Nhu Y (Hong Loc commune, currently working in Vung Tau city) expressed: "This spring, my parents are both 80 years old. Therefore, all the children and grandchildren in the family returned to gather to celebrate their grandparents' longevity. Along with organizing a small ceremony at home for relatives and friends to come and congratulate, I find the longevity celebration program at the village cultural house very meaningful. The solemn ceremony shows the attention of the Party Committee and authorities, the love of the village and the neighborhood for the elderly in general and my parents in particular. It is also a source of encouragement for the elderly to live happily and healthily, and at the same time a reminder for children and grandchildren like us to care for our grandparents and parents more."

Along with Loc Ha, longevity celebrations for the elderly are also held in other localities solemnly, joyfully and warmly. In Thinh Bang village (Son Bang commune, Huong Son), on the morning of the 3rd day of Lunar New Year, the "old" people together received congratulatory certificates, longevity letters from leaders at all levels and wishes from their children, grandchildren and villagers.

Mrs. Pham Thi Kieu (102 years old, in Thinh Bang village, Son Bang commune, Huong Son) happily expressed: "Receiving the attention and longevity wishes of the Party and State, the villagers and children, I feel very happy. This is a source of encouragement for me to have more joy in life, witnessing the changes and progress of my homeland every day".

Mrs. Pham Thi Kieu (Son Bang commune, Huong Son) was happy with her children and grandchildren at the 102nd birthday ceremony, on the occasion of the Spring of Giap Thin 2024.

On this occasion, Ha Tinh City had 2,117 elderly people celebrated and wished longevity by the province, including 43 people over 100 years old and 11 people turning 100 years old. The longevity celebration was organized solemnly, civilly, joyfully and enthusiastically by the authorities of wards, communes and the elderly's families.

In Thach Hung commune, from early morning on the 4th day of Tet, the elderly and their children and grandchildren went to the village cultural houses to attend the longevity celebration organized by the government. Mr. Tran Viet Thanh in Hoa village (Thach Hung commune, Ha Tinh city) said: "This year, I am 85 years old, and my wife is 70 years old. Participating in the longevity celebration with the elderly organized by the village at the cultural house, we feel very excited to feel the care of the community and the children and grandchildren of each family".

New Year is coming all over the country and Ha Tinh, the atmosphere is both solemn and bustling, exciting at the longevity celebrations, wishing longevity to the elderly, making the rich cultural life of each countryside more beautiful. Thereby, helping the elderly see the concern of society and family, creating a source of encouragement, optimism and excitement, so that the elderly love life more, live happily and healthily.

In recent times, along with many policies of the Party and the State, the material and spiritual life of the elderly in Ha Tinh has been constantly improved. In particular, through the attention of local authorities at all levels and each family in organizing longevity celebrations for the elderly, it has contributed to encouraging the elderly to live happily, healthily and usefully every day. This is a beautiful traditional cultural feature of the nation, expressing the morality of drinking water and remembering its source, showing gratitude to parents, grandparents and the elderly in general of the whole society.
