Resolute and responsible in handling backlog and stuck projects

On the afternoon of October 17, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province held a meeting to listen to reports on the situation and plans to handle pending projects in the area.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha chaired the meeting. Members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee: Nguyen Trong Hieu - Director of the Department of Finance, Tran Viet Ha - Head of the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board; leaders of relevant departments, branches and localities attended.

According to the report at the meeting, the total number of backlogged and stuck projects in the whole province is 296 projects. With the drastic direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the coordination of departments, branches and localities, up to now, 111 projects have been completely handled, including 73 projects outside the economic zones and industrial parks.

Compared to the results of August, 19 more projects with backlogs and problems have been handled so far. There are currently 185 projects with problems related to legality, planning or problems that have no legal regulations to handle.

Regarding the contents related to the Working Group according to Decision No. 720 of the province, out of 19 outstanding contents assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, the Working Group has completed handling 9 contents, 2 contents have plans, the remaining contents are continuing to be monitored and handled.

At the meeting, departments, branches and localities reported on the progress of handling projects that are still stuck, and discussed some objective difficulties in handling slow-progressing projects. On that basis, the province was proposed mechanisms and solutions to speed up the handling process.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai acknowledged the efforts of localities and departments in handling backlogs and problems. At the same time, he emphasized that currently, the backlog and problems of projects are still large, affecting the development of the province, so it requires departments, branches and localities to continue to take drastic action, strongly promoting the role and responsibility of leaders in solving them.

Focus on actively reviewing, classifying and handling projects according to assigned tasks. Departments and branches must regularly coordinate, accompany and support localities in building, advising on plans and handling backlogged projects in each locality.

For groups of projects that are stuck but have legal regulations to resolve, departments, branches, and localities, according to their functions and tasks, promptly organize and handle them according to their authority, and periodically report the results to the Provincial People's Committee. During the handling process, it is necessary to regularly consult with the instructions of the Central ministries, branches, and sectors to ensure consistency and compliance with legal regulations.
