Tour guides are people who work in the tourism service industry and are considered as information transmitters. They use language to explain, introduce and answer questions for tourists at the places they will visit during the journey.

If you want to be a tour guide, which subject should you study?

There are currently many schools that train tour guides, with a variety of admission subject combinations, opening up many opportunities for candidates who love this profession. Below are the subject combinations that you can register for admission to the Tour Guide major:

A01: Math - Physics - English

C00: Literature - History - Geography

C01: Literature - Math - Physics

D01: Literature - Math - English

Each block will have different entrance exam subjects, depending on the candidate's ability, this block will be easy to take, the remaining blocks will be difficult. However, if you want to be a tour guide, you should improve your foreign language from an early age.

However, there will be differences between schools in the application of admission methods as well as conditions and criteria in the admission process.

Most universities today have 4 forms of admission according to 4 methods: Admission based on high school graduation exam scores, admission based on academic results (admission based on high school transcripts), admission through competency assessment tests, direct admission, and priority admission.

To pursue and succeed in this profession, students need to be able to combine and develop many professional skills such as: presentation skills, good communication skills, problem solving skills, event organization, understanding of geography, history, culture, society, and people of each tourist destination.

Currently, the salary of a tour guide ranges from 6 - 10 million VND/month for domestic tour guides. Meanwhile, international tour guides have an income of 15 - 30 million VND/month.
