According to preliminary reports from businesses, during the recent flood, all 31 factories operating in the industrial park were flooded from 1m to 1.5m deep and had to stop operations from November 20, causing production disruptions. Office equipment of the units was damaged, the entire warehouse was heavily flooded, machinery and equipment were submerged in water, causing huge damage. The estimated damage of businesses in Dien Phu industrial park is about 315 billion VND. The total number of temporarily suspended workers is 1,882 people. Up to now, only 5/31 businesses have resumed operations, including: Anh Ngoc Company Limited, Phoenix Gas Company Limited in Nha Trang, Nha Trang Industrial Steam Factory, Tuyet Hao Khanh Hoa Company Limited, Hung Bao Company Limited. Other businesses will have to wait until early December or mid-December to resume operations. For businesses that are severely damaged, the time to repair machinery may be even longer.

In addition, the internal traffic infrastructure of the industrial park was also flooded from 1.5m to 2m deep. After the flood, the entrance to the industrial park was seriously damaged; the road surface collapsed and peeled off, creating potholes. The centralized wastewater treatment plant with a design capacity of 1,500 m3 /day and night and the automatic wastewater monitoring system were also flooded; currently unable to operate.
At the meeting, businesses proposed that the province consider exempting or extending taxes and removing financial obligations during the recovery period; at the same time, promptly arranging funds to repair roads to industrial parks, fix wastewater treatment plants and environmental monitoring systems to ensure conditions for safe and sustainable production recovery.
Mr. Tran Quoc Sanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said that all the recommendations of enterprises will be compiled by the department and reported to the Provincial People's Committee for support and difficulty removal. The Provincial People's Committee has specific policies for people in flooded areas, which also helps workers in industrial parks to stabilize and return to work soon. Regarding the issue of tax deferral or reduction for enterprises damaged by natural disasters, the Department of Industry and Trade will work with the Tax Department to have appropriate policies. In the coming time, for the difficulties and obstacles of enterprises, the Department of Industry and Trade is ready to support and accompany to facilitate enterprises in production and business.
