Accordingly, the admission subjects are junior high school graduates in the whole province, with academic performance and conduct ranked from good and above, and junior high school graduates ranked from good and above. For junior high school graduates from schools outside the province, with permanent residence outside the province who wish to take the entrance exam to the school, they must have the consent of the Department of Education and Training.
Students who register for the entrance exam to grade 10 of Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted can also register for admission to the Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (if eligible) and register for admission to 2 non-specialized high schools in the province, ranked in order of preference 1 and preference 2.
Students who register for specialized classes can register for non-specialized classes of the school. Students who register for specialized Math classes can register for additional specialized IT classes.

Candidates who have passed the preliminary round will be admitted. The exam subjects include: Math, Literature, English and specialized subjects. If the specialized subject is one of the above subjects, then for each of these subjects, students must take 2 exams (non-specialized and specialized), in which the exam for the specialized subject has higher requirements.
The exam is scheduled to take place over 2 days (June 6-7, 2023). The exam time is 90 minutes for the subjects: Literature, Math; 60 minutes for English and 150 minutes for specialized subjects. The exam location is at Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted or neighboring schools.
The number of students admitted to specialized classes is no more than 35 students/class and the number of students admitted to non-specialized classes is no more than 40 students/class. This is also the last year that specialized high schools are allowed to enroll in non-specialized classes according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
