Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued report No. 19/BC-UBND on the implementation of tasks for the 2024-2025 school year and preparations for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.
According to this report, it is expected that in the upcoming new school year, the whole city will have 2,528,789 students, an increase of 39,632 students compared to the previous school year, of which primary school students are the most numerous (939,002 students, a decrease of 9,485 students compared to the previous school year), secondary school has 759,278 students (an increase of 42,978 students compared to the previous school year), preschool has 478,458 students (an increase of 4,737 students compared to the previous school year), high school has 352,051 students (an increase of 1,402 students compared to the previous school year).
In the 2025-2026 school year, it is expected that the entire city will put into use 1,287 new classrooms from the budget, of which 151 classrooms will be for preschools, 585 classrooms for primary schools, 412 classrooms for middle schools, and 112 classrooms for high schools.
In addition, it is expected that there will be about 200 preschool classrooms and 190 general education classrooms invested from socialized capital.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, in the new school year, the city will continue to ensure that 100% of children living in the area have enough places to study, ensuring conditions of facilities and equipment to organize activities at educational institutions according to the requirements of the General Education Program.
