Improving management capacity for geological and mineral workers

On the afternoon of August 15, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hai Phong City coordinated with the Department of Geology and Minerals of Vietnam to organize a training conference on the Law on Geology and Minerals No. 54/2024/QH15 and its implementing documents for the sectors.

The training was attended by nearly 500 delegates who are leaders and experts of specialized departments of People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones in the city; and representatives of enterprises operating in the mineral sector.

At the conference, the reporter from the Department of Geology and Minerals of Vietnam introduced the basic contents of the Law on Geology and Minerals 2024, passed by the National Assembly on November 29, 2024; and disseminated new points in the system of documents guiding the implementation of the law.

Through training, it contributes to improving the state management capacity of cadres, civil servants and public employees working in geology and minerals in Hai Phong city. At the same time, it enhances legal awareness and compliance with regulations for organizations and individuals operating in mineral exploitation in the area.

Effective implementation of the 2024 Law on Geology and Minerals and its guiding documents will contribute to environmental protection, stabilizing the construction materials market and ensuring supply for the city's key projects.

At the conference, delegates actively discussed and clarified the contents stipulated by the Law on Geology and Minerals and the documents guiding its implementation. They focused on the contents that directly affect the operations of businesses and people such as the settlement of mining rights fees, statistics, inventory of reserves, regulations on group 4 minerals, and procedures for confirming mineral recovery under the authority of the Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level.
