According to this decision, the project to build a cargo terminal at Da Nang International Airport is invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation - Joint Stock Company (ACV), with an investment scale of 24,618.2m2, of which, land for building a cargo terminal: 14,206.4m2, land for building a cargo staging area and parking lot: 10,411.8m2.
The cargo terminal is built to meet the increasing demand for cargo transportation in the Central Highlands region, especially Da Nang city, with a design capacity target of 100,000 tons of cargo per year by 2030.
At the same time, it plays an important role in improving the region's air logistics capacity, contributing to economic development and promoting import and export activities by air.
Total investment capital of the Project is 631,288,461,000 VND.
Regarding the progress of implementing the main operational objectives of the Project such as achieving the cargo terminal capacity target according to the approved plan (expected by 2030): cargo output reaches about 100,000 tons/year.
Basic construction progress and putting the project into operation and exploitation is expected in the second quarter of 2025: completing investment preparation work and adjusting local planning of the project construction land;
From the second quarter of 2025 to the fourth quarter of 2026: implement basic construction and put the project into operation, operating at a capacity of 50,000 tons/year; from the third quarter of 2028 to the first quarter of 2029: invest in additional equipment and put the project into operation, operating at a capacity of 100,000 tons/year.
Previously, on June 20, 2022, the People's Committee of Da Nang City issued Decision No. 1643/QD-UBND, approving the investment policy of the Project to build a cargo terminal at Da Nang airport. This project will be implemented on an area of 28,745.9m². Including the main terminal area with a capacity of handling 100,000 tons of cargo per year (14,004.9m²), a staging and parking lot (14,741m²) and other auxiliary works. The total initial investment is 350 billion VND from the development capital of Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC.
