Renewable energy in the Mekong Delta - Breakthrough in green economic development, circular economy

That was the topic of the workshop organized by the People's Committee of Vinh province on the morning of October 8. Attending the workshop were comrades: Ho Thi Hoang Yen - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Minh Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Van Han - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; comrades of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, and representatives of leaders of ministries, branches, localities, experts and enterprises.

According to the assessment, the Mekong Delta with more than 740km of coastline, abundant biomass and solar radiation, is becoming a region with great potential for wind power, solar power and biomass power. Vinh Long - the regional center with convenient traffic infrastructure, is oriented to become the clean energy locomotive of the region. The projects, when put into operation, will create a stable energy source, contribute to the budget, create jobs and promote the green economic structure.

The workshop is expected to open a new direction, making the region a symbol of sustainable development in the era of green economy.

At the workshop, representatives of ministries, branches, experts and businesses pointed out the "bottlenecks" that need to be resolved in the development of renewable energy - namely investment institutions and procedures; limited transmission infrastructure and the investor selection mechanism that is not transparent and flexible enough. The solutions proposed focus on perfecting policy mechanisms, promoting infrastructure investment, transparent bidding and encouraging innovation.

With the spirit of "government accompanying businesses", Vinh Long commits to removing difficulties and accompanying investors to realize the goal of becoming the renewable energy center of the Mekong Delta, moving towards the clean energy export center of the whole country.
