The Tran Hung Dao Bridge is one of eight key projects in Hanoi that commenced construction on this occasion, with a total investment of over 15,967 billion VND.

The project starts from the intersection of Tran Hung Dao and Tran Thanh Tong streets and ends at Nguyen Son street (Long Bien district), with a total length of approximately 4.18 km.

The main section of the bridge over the Red River is 870m long, consisting of 6 spans, with a cross-section of 43m, accommodating 6 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 lanes for bicycles, and 2 lanes for pedestrians.

The approach roads at both ends of the bridge have a cross-sectional width of 25.5 – 30m and a total length of approximately 1.42km.

The project will invest in the complete construction of three interchanges, including: a multi-level interchange with Tran Khanh Du and Nguyen Khoai roads; an interchange with the left bank of the Red River (Long Bien - Xuan Quan road); and a level interchange with Nguyen Son road. The project is expected to be completed in 2027.

According to Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan, the Tran Hung Dao bridge is part of the plan to develop 18 bridges over the Red River, contributing to connecting major traffic arteries, promoting urbanization in the areas on both banks, reducing traffic congestion in the city center, and expanding the modern development space of the capital.

Representing the consortium of contractors, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, General Director of Dat Phuong Group, committed to implementing construction scientifically and technically, mobilizing maximum resources, using modern equipment, strictly controlling material sources, and ensuring quality, progress, labor safety, and environmental hygiene.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh emphasized: “Developing a synchronous infrastructure is one of the three strategic breakthroughs identified by the 13th National Congress of the Party. Modern transportation infrastructure is an important foundation that opens up new development opportunities and changes the face of the country.”

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, in recent years, the Central Party Committee, the National Assembly, and the Government have focused and prioritized significant resources to invest in the development of key national transportation infrastructure such as expressways, international airports, urban railways, and seaports... creating important momentum contributing to socio-economic development, opening up new development opportunities, and significantly changing the face of the country.

The Deputy Prime Minister commended Hanoi's efforts and urged the construction units to ensure quality, progress, aesthetics, environmental hygiene, and labor safety, harmonizing the interests of the State, the people, and businesses, thereby contributing to improved investment efficiency.

He also urged the city to promote self-reliance and self-improvement, strongly decentralize power, remove cumbersome administrative procedures, effectively implement the "six clear principles" in management and administration, create a patriotic emulation spirit, and work for the people and the development of Hanoi.

Upon completion, the Tran Hung Dao Bridge will not only be a modern transportation project but also a symbolic representation of the creative spirit and determination for innovation of the capital city, contributing to the goal of developing a comprehensive and modern infrastructure, and realizing the vision of "Hanoi - A green, cultured, civilized, and modern city".
