The places that can be mentioned are Tam Duong (Lai Chau), Muong La (Son La, Song Ma (Son La), Yen Chau (Son La), Moc Chau (Son La), Mai Chau (Hoa Binh), Pho Rang (Lao Cai), Bao Lac (Cao Bang), Mong Cai (Quang Ninh), Ha Dong ( Hanoi ), Nho Quan (Ninh Binh)...

Notably, in Tuong Duong (Nghe An), the absolute highest temperature value was observed at 44.2C on May 7 and was considered the highest daily temperature value ever observed in the country (the old value was 43.4C in Huong Khe ( Ha Tinh ) occurred in April 2019).

The Northern region will also experience heat waves in the first days of the month, after which the intensity of heat waves will temporarily decrease. From mid-June, the average temperature will tend to be about 0.5-1.0 degrees Celsius higher than the average of many years, and heat waves will increase again. The Northern and Central regions are likely to experience many hot days, with the number of hot days being higher than the average of many years.

It is forecasted that in June 2023, rainfall in the Northern, North and Central Central regions will generally be 10-20% lower than the average of many years; in the South Central region it will be approximately the same; in the Central Highlands and the South, it will generally be 5-20% higher than the average of the same period. During the month, storms/ tropical depressions are likely to be active in the East Sea and affect the Northern and North Central regions.

In the Central Highlands and the South, there were many days of showers and thunderstorms during the month; in the North and North Central regions, rain tended to concentrate in the middle and end of the month, however, the total monthly rainfall still tended to be lower than the average of many years. Throughout the country, continue to be on guard against thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and hail (more concentrated in the North, North Central, Central Highlands, and the South).

Due to the impact of hot weather, concentrated in the Northern and Central regions, beware of the risk of fire and explosion in residential and production areas due to increased demand for electricity and the high risk of forest fires. In addition, dangerous weather phenomena such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and hail continue to appear nationwide, which can greatly affect production and people's activities.

Regarding the heat wave currently occurring in the North and Central regions, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that today (June 1), in the North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, there will be hot and extremely hot weather, with some places being especially extremely hot with temperatures at 1 p.m. this afternoon generally ranging from 35-37 degrees, with some places above 39 degrees such as: Muong La (Son La) 41.1 degrees, Bac Me (Ha Giang) 39.2 degrees, Bao Lac (Cao Bang) 40.8 degrees, Tay Hieu (Nghe An) 39.2 degrees. Relative humidity at 1 p.m. is generally 42-65%.

On June 2 and 3, the North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue will have hot and extremely hot weather, some places will be especially hot with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 36-39 degrees, some places will be over 40 degrees; the lowest relative humidity is commonly 40-60%; the area from Da Nang to Phu Yen will have hot weather, some places will be extremely hot with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-37 degrees, some places will be over 37 degrees; the lowest relative humidity is commonly 50-65%. From May 4, the hot weather in the North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen will tend to ease.
