During MWC 2024, Huawei showcased a series of 5.5G, F5.5G, and Net5.5G products and solutions for various scenarios. Huawei also introduced the industry's first Telecom Foundation Model.
In recent times, Huawei has accompanied carriers in commercial trials of 5.5G in more than 20 cities around the world. In the Middle East, six members of the Gulf Cooperation Council have reached a consensus on the development of 5.5G, verifying the 10Gbps speed of 5.5G networks and the ability to create new services such as RedCap and passive IoT. In Asia, three major carriers in China have deployed 5.5G in major cities for services connecting people, devices, homes, vehicles and industries.
In Europe, operators in Finland have completed 5.5G technology verification on commercial networks, achieving peak speeds of over 10Gbps and verification of passive IoT technology. In Germany, operators conducting trials on the 6GHz band have also achieved peak network speeds of 12Gbps using multi-carrier techniques.
During MWC 2024, Huawei showcased a series of 5.5G, F5.5G, and Net5.5G products and solutions for various scenarios. Huawei also introduced the industry's first Telecom Foundation Model.
This is the world's first model that provides intelligent applications based on different roles and scenarios, addressing the needs of multiple industries for flexible service provision, precise user experience assurance, and efficient O&M. It also helps operators maximize network value, empower employees, and improve user satisfaction to comprehensively increase 5.5G network productivity.
“We are accelerating towards an intelligent world. As network demands continue to grow, 5.5G is an important step towards this world. 5.5G is expected to be commercially deployed in 2024. So let’s build the network for future practical applications now and accelerate the progress towards the intelligent world,” said Li Peng, Senior Vice President and President of Huawei ICT Business and Services Group.
