Over the past week, the Pokrovsk front has been the hottest spot in the Russia-Ukraine battlefield; the vital supply lines for the Ukrainian army group in the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd stronghold have been completely cut off by the Russian Armed Forces (RFAF) from the two cities of Slavyansko-Kramatorsk in Donetsk. This will soon force the Ukrainian army to retreat.
2-8892.jpg
This is a tactic that the Russian army has successfully applied, when besieging many cities in Donetsk, places that the Ukrainian army (AFU) has turned into defensive fortresses such as Avdiivka, Ugledar, Kurakhovo, Selidovo and Velyka Novosilka.

This forecast was also made by two of the most prestigious Western think tanks, the Polish Center for Eastern European Studies (OSW) and the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW). The RFAF's encirclement tactics have caused many difficulties for the Ukrainian army.
4.jpg
Along with the encirclement of Pokrovsk, the RFAF is rapidly advancing towards the border area between Donbass Oblast and Dnipropetrovsk and expanding its control over territories in the Zaporizhia and Dnepropetrovsk regions; this indicates the comprehensive nature of the offensive.
5.jpg
RFAF has taken control of the villages of Razne, Mayak and Novotoretske northeast of Mirnograd. Fighting is currently ongoing at Fedorovka and Boikivka. Attack units of RFAF Army Group Center have advanced towards Krasny Liman and Rodynske.
6-2673.jpg
In Rodynske, the T0515 road runs north from Mirnograd to Dobropolye. This is also a vital route that plays a very important role in supplying the Ukrainian army in Pokrovsk and Mirnograd.
7-7725.jpg
The successful crossing of the Kazeny Torets River by the RFAF from the northeast helped to avoid the concentration of Ukrainian troops in the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd urban area. Thus, the RFAF's encirclement of the AFU group in Pokrovsk-Mirnograd was basically completed.
3-1460.jpg
Faced with the threat of being cut off from their main supply routes, as the RFAF has created a siege, Ukrainian forces in Pokrovsk-Mirnograd may be forced to open trails through the fields, from the north of Pokrovsk.
4-121.jpg
More than six months ago, the Ukrainian side had to abandon the transportation of supplies, weapons and reserves along the original main highway - the M04 highway from Dnepropetrovsk to Pokrovsk, which is 6-8 km away from the RFAF's forward positions.
10.jpg
Novoekonomichne is currently the last Ukrainian outpost, guarding the T0514 road to Myrnohrad from the east. Taking control of this settlement will further tighten the RFAF's grip and increase pressure on Ukrainian positions in the area.
8.jpg
In coordination with the Pokrovsk front, the Vostok RFAF Group is advancing into Dnepropetrovsk Oblast, the so-called “industrial heart” of Ukraine and the homeland of President Zelensky, from four directions: north of Novonikolaivka, west of Orekhov, northwest of Novoukrainka (it was here that they achieved the greatest success, when they took control of Dachne and its surroundings, opening a direct road to Novopavlovka) and west of Voskresenka.
17.jpg
According to OSW analysts, the RFAF's combat operations in the Dnipropetrovsk region should not be seen as an independent combat operation, but as support for their operations in the Donetsk theater. The RFAF continued its offensive, seizing control of the remaining villages of the Donetsk region, from the area between Pokrovsk and Velyka Novosyolka.
13-713.jpg However, a rapid attack deep into Dnipropetrovsk Oblast is unlikely at this time. To do so, the RFAF would need to take full control of the remaining villages in Donetsk Oblast, from the southwestern Pokrovsk region to Velyka Novosyolka.
14.jpg
To the east of the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd cluster, the RFAF Army Group Center is expanding its bridgehead towards Konstantinovka. After a year of fierce fighting, the western suburbs of Toretsk, Shcherbinovka and Petrovka, remain under AFU control.
13.jpg
But the RFAF breakthrough from the Pokrovsk-Konstantinovka highway and from the south to Oleksandro-Kalynove, weakened the Ukrainian defenses west of the concentration area, after which the Russians began to attack the high-rise buildings, which were housing workers, built during the Soviet era.
21.jpg
By early July, the RFAF had advanced into Oleksandro-Kalynove and were advancing along the road from Toretsk, along the western end of the Kleban-Byk reservoir and towards Konstantinovka. In recent days, Russian forces advancing from the south had advanced into the centre of the village of Novospaske (known as Petrovka in Russian). The fate of the Ukrainian garrison at Shcherbinovka, south of Novospaske, is unclear, although they may have retreated north.
17-595.jpg
Under the attacks of newly reinforced units from the RFAF rear lines east of Toretsk (in the Dyleevka area), the Ukrainian defenders there were forced to retreat from the northern outskirts of the Toretsk area and are organizing defenses south of Kostiantynivka.
16.jpg
Polish and American analysts believe that in the near future, the AFU will have to retreat to the northern shore of the Kleban-Byk reservoir. Thus, at least 100 square kilometers of territory in this direction will be under the control of the RFAF. In fact, the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from here means the complete end of the Battle of Toretsk and the beginning of the Battle of Konstantinovka.
