Russia is ready to cooperate with all countries on the basis of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit. This was the statement of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on May 17 in an interview with Sarygrad TV channel (Russia).

Mr. Lavrov emphasized that Russia's strengthening of relations with ASEAN, India and China since 2001 does not mean that Moscow turned its back on the West. It was the West that turned its back by abandoning its own interests.

As the scope of relations with Western countries decreases, the level of Russia's Eastern policy naturally increases.

Mr. Lavrov stated that Russia has always been a Euro- Pacific power and Moscow is ready to cooperate with all countries willing to cooperate on conditions of mutual respect and mutual benefit.

The Russian diplomat said that the level of cooperation of Russian regions with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), China, India, Iran, Turkey and Arab countries has increased sharply.

In particular, Russia's relations with Central Asian countries develop in the direction of cooperation and strategic partnership on the basis of equality, mutual respect and on the basis of the principles of friendship and good neighborliness.

This relationship has a strong political dialogue character. Political dialogue helps develop active investment cooperation, helps resolve issues to ensure stable trade growth.
