In recent years, the effective use of social policy credit capital has become an important driving force contributing to sustainable poverty reduction and new rural construction in Kim Boi district.
Du Sang is a typical commune that has effectively implemented social credit programs. According to comrade Dang The Quang, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, thanks to the good implementation of policy credit activities, people's lives have improved a lot. Every year, the commune directs the entrusted organizations and unions to coordinate in reviewing and synthesizing the correct loan needs; promptly notify the villages and organize disbursement to ensure the right subjects and regulations. From the beginning of 2025 to now, the commune has disbursed over 7 billion VND, bringing the total outstanding debt to nearly 44 billion VND. Preferential capital has become a fulcrum for many poor, near-poor and newly escaped-poverty households to invest in production and develop their livelihoods.
In Sang Trong hamlet, the efficiency of capital use is even more evident. According to Ms. Bach Thi Danh, Head of the hamlet's Savings and Loan Group, the group currently has 37 members, with outstanding loans of 1.8 billion VND. Thanks to preferential credit capital, many households have boldly invested in livestock farming, afforestation, and strived to develop the economy . Most households that borrow capital use it for the right purpose, fulfill their debt repayment obligations, creating a systematic and sustainable borrowing and repayment system.
A typical example is Mr. Bui Van Nguyen's family - formerly a poor household. With the loan capital from the poor household program of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, his family invested in raising buffaloes and planting forests. When he escaped poverty, he continued to borrow 50 million VND under the program for newly escaped poor households to expand the scale of livestock farming. Up to now, the family has 5 buffaloes, with a stable income.
Mr. Nguyen shared: "Policy loans are very practical, helping my family have the conditions to invest in production development. Without preferential loans from the Bank for Social Policies, our family's economy would still be very difficult. We hope to continue to have access to capital to expand livestock farming and increase income."
Not only in Du Sang commune, social credit has played a positive role in the whole Kim Boi district. By the end of May 2025, the total outstanding social credit balance of the whole district reached over 656 billion VND, with over 16,000 poor households and policy beneficiaries still having outstanding loans. In the first 5 months of the year, the whole district had over 1,900 customers receiving loans, with loan turnover reaching over 113 billion VND. From this capital source, 330 workers have been employed; more than 500 clean water and sanitation works have been built, contributing to improving the quality of life and improving the new rural criteria in many highland and particularly disadvantaged communes.
The effectiveness of social credit in Kim Boi district is not only reflected in the numbers, but also in the changes in the appearance of the countryside and people's lives. The use of capital for the right purposes and for the right subjects has helped many households overcome difficulties, stabilize production, and escape poverty. At the same time, it has aroused the spirit of self-reliance and proactive economic development - a key factor in building a sustainable new countryside.
