The event "Colors of Son La" taking place in Da Nang city is a key tourism promotion activity, contributing to promoting the local image, expanding connections and tourism markets. This is also a strategic step to spread the image of a Son La with a strong identity, friendly and attractive to domestic and foreign tourists.

Located in the Northwest of the country, Son La is blessed with majestic mountains, fresh air and a diverse ethnic culture imbued with identity. The climate here is cool, especially in Moc Chau National Tourist Area, which is temperate all year round, creating favorable conditions for the development of resort tourism, eco-tourism and high-tech agriculture .

This land is also known for famous landmarks such as heart-shaped tea hills, Dai Yem waterfall, Bach Long glass bridge - the longest walking glass bridge in the world, Ban Ang pine forest, windy Pha Luong peak, majestic Bat cave; cloud hunting spots, hot mineral springs, natural waterfalls... Not only is it an ideal destination for nature lovers, Son La is also an attractive destination for tourists who love adventure sports such as paragliding over Moc Chau plateau, ziplining, trekking, mountain climbing, and trail running races...

In particular, Son La is the “capital” of many high-quality agricultural products such as Shan Tuyet tea, Hau plum, avocado, mango, longan, hawthorn... associated with the increasingly popular agricultural tourism brand. Plum gardens, apricot gardens, dairy farms, strawberry farms... have become attractive destinations, where visitors can harvest and enjoy clean agricultural products in the midst of beautiful nature.

One of the valuable “assets” of Son La is the rich and diverse culture of the community of 12 ethnic groups living together, including the Thai, Mong, Muong, Dao… Each ethnic group has its own distinct culture, from costumes, house architecture, cuisine to traditional customs and festivals.

Many unique festivals such as Het Cha, Hoa Ban Festival, Hair Washing Festival, Son Tra Flower Festival, Fruit Picking Festival, Moc Chau Cultural and Tourism Week on the occasion of National Day September 2, Xen Ban - Xen Muong Festival of the Thai people, Pang A ritual of the La Ha people, Mang Ma ritual of the Xinh Mun people, Gau Tao Festival of the Mong people... have become cultural and tourism events held annually, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

Along with that is a unique intangible cultural treasure such as Thai xoe art (recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity), folk songs, folk dances, traditional rituals, traditional crafts such as brocade weaving, knitting, forging agricultural tools, making do paper... All create a unique appeal, with a distinct color that cannot be found anywhere else.

In recent years, Son La has promoted investment in tourism infrastructure, human resource development, service quality improvement and the development of highly experiential tourism products with the participation of the local community. The province has issued many policies and mechanisms to support businesses and encourage public-private partnerships in the tourism sector.

According to the orientation to 2030, Son La Tourism strives to become an economic sector with an important position in the general economic structure with a synchronous technical infrastructure system; quality, diverse, branded and competitive tourism products; imbued with national cultural identity, environmentally friendly; making Son La one of the key tourism areas of the country.

“Colors of Son La” - Bringing the Northwest closer to the Central region

To create a boost for tourism development, Son La will organize the event "Colors of Son La" from June 19 - 23, 2025 at Bien Dong Park, Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang City.

“Son La Colors” will be a space that fully converges the quintessence of culture, tourism, cuisine and products of Son La. The program includes outstanding activities such as: the art program “Son La Colors”; organizing survey delegations to connect Son La - Da Nang tourism; Son La - Da Nang tourism promotion conference. At the conference, there will be notable activities such as: exhibition space, promotion of products, tourism publications, OCOP products of Son La; introduction of tourism resources, tourism products, land and people of Son La and Da Nang; businesses of the two provinces and cities introducing tourism products, stimulus packages, solutions for tourism development linkage; discussion of solutions, linkages for tourism development between Son La and Da Nang. In addition, the exhibition of beautiful photos of tourism resources, land and people of Son La and the display of booths introducing culture - tourism and OCOP products of Son La, including a space to introduce and perform ethnic culture (xoe dance, bamboo dance, throwing con and introducing unique cultural features of Son La province...) are also activities that will attract visitors to visit and experience.

Through the event, Son La province not only hopes to spread the image of the beautiful and hospitable Northwest region to the people of Da Nang in particular and the Central region in general, especially the brand "World's leading regional natural destination" for Moc Chau National Tourist Area, Son La Hydroelectric Reservoir Area, Ta Xua Tourist Area..., but also open the door to cooperation, linking tours - routes, exchanging tourist sources and tourism development experiences between localities.

In addition, this is also an opportunity for districts, cities, tourist areas, points, villages, hotels, restaurants, tourism cooperatives in Son La province to introduce unique tourism products, cultural identities of ethnic groups and local products to people and tourists in Da Nang city. Through experiential activities at the event, it creates opportunities to attract investors, travel companies, units, and individuals to cooperate in tourism development in Son La province, especially Moc Chau National Tourist Area and Son La Hydropower Reservoir.
