On June 17, the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam said that 2024 marks a remarkable development in tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Korea. The total number of two-way tourists between Vietnam and Korea has reached more than 5 million, demonstrating the strong recovery and great potential of bilateral tourism between Vietnam and Korea. In addition, in 2024, KTO supported more than 54,000 MICE tourists (tourism combined with conferences and exhibitions), an increase of 32% compared to 2023, bringing Vietnam to the second position in Southeast Asia in terms of the number of MICE visitors to Korea, just behind the Philippines.
In the first half of 2025, KTO Vietnam has implemented many large-scale and effective tourism promotion programs. Notably, the campaign "Spring and Summer Visit Korea, Fragrant Flowers and Sunny Sunlight" was launched in collaboration with 20 leading travel companies in Vietnam to promote Korea's unique spring and summer tourism products, with thousands of gifts for Vietnamese tourists. KTO also actively participated in domestic events, such as the 2025 VITM International Tourism Fair in Hanoi , with local promotion agencies from Jeju, Busan, Suwon, Gyeongsangbuk, etc. In addition, the Korea Travel Mart 2025 event brought together more than 20 Korean tourism businesses and more than 100 partners from Vietnam, including airlines, travel companies, press agencies and tourism industry associations, bringing many opportunities for tourism cooperation between businesses of the two countries.
In addition to traditional promotional activities, KTO also focuses on promoting online communication through the “Be the Kreator” program. The program has selected and connected with 20 young Vietnamese content creators living and studying in Korea, aiming to spread the image of Korea through a new, creative and familiar perspective.
In the second half of 2025, KTO Vietnam will continue to strengthen the presence and influence of Korean tourism in Vietnam through a series of large-scale events. Notably, the Korea Travel Festa 2025 is expected to be held in Ho Chi Minh City with a scale of reaching about 70,000 Vietnamese tourists who love to travel; ITE International Tourism Fair in Ho Chi Minh City; the annual Korea Travel Award 2025 event to honor typical partners, contributing to promoting long-term strategic relationships in the tourism sector between the two countries...
In the second half of 2025, KTO will continue to focus on promoting various Korean transit tour products for Vietnamese tourists flying from Vietnam to the US, Europe or other countries with transit flights in Korea. With a visa exemption policy for transit tourists, free programs such as city tours around Seoul, or paid products with a variety of culinary, cultural and shopping options, transit tours are an attractive option for passengers who want to take advantage of their transit time to explore a part of Korea during their trip.
Ms. Park Eun Jung, Chief Representative of the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam, said that through a series of diverse promotional activities, combining both direct and online forms, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) is actively accompanying Vietnamese travel companies in developing specialized tourism products such as K-Culture tour, Premium tour, Sports tour, as well as supporting charter groups to Korea.
“We hope to bring Vietnamese tourists new, unique and authentic Korean experiences. It is expected that in 2025, Korea will continue to welcome more than 500,000 visitors from Vietnam and maintain the achievement of making Vietnam one of the Southeast Asian markets with the highest number of visitors to Korea.” – Ms. Park Eun Jung shared.
