Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong contributed 70 million VIC shares to VinEnergo, about to make a billion-dollar power project.

Having just completed the transfer of ownership of more than 48 million VIC shares to VinSpeed, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong continues to register to contribute more capital to an energy company.

Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong - Chairman of Vingroup Corporation - has just reported the results of stock transactions to the Securities Commission and HoSE. This report was announced by Vingroup Corporation today (June 11).

According to the report, Mr. Vuong has completed the transfer of ownership of more than 48 million VIC shares of Vingroup to VinSpeed High-Speed Railway Investment and Development Joint Stock Company.

The above ownership transfer transaction was carried out through the Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (VSDC) on June 10.

After the transaction, Mr. Vuong still holds more than 608.14 million shares, equivalent to 15.68% of Vingroup's charter capital.

On the same day, Mr. Vuong continued to register with the management agency about the transfer of more than 70.6 million VIC shares - equivalent to 1.82% of Vingroup's charter capital - to contribute capital to VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company.

The transaction will also be conducted through VSDC, expected from June 16 to July 15. After the transaction is completed, the number of shares Mr. Vuong holds will decrease to more than 537.49 million shares, equivalent to 13.86% of Vingroup's charter capital.

Previously, on April 11, Vingroup's chairman also announced using more than 35 million VIC shares he is holding to contribute capital to establish VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company.

The above shares are worth VND1,420 billion, calculated by the average trading price of VIC shares for 50 consecutive sessions up to February 21.

VinEnergo was officially established on March 12, 2025, operating mainly in the field of electricity production and electrical equipment.

In addition to Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, his two sons and Vingroup Corporation are also shareholders of this enterprise. In which, Mr. Pham Nhat Quan Anh and Mr. Pham Nhat Minh Hoang each own 5% of the capital.

VinEnergo is identified as a joint venture partner with Vingroup to invest in the Hai Phong LNG Thermal Power Plant project, expected to be located in Tan Trao Industrial Park, Kien Thuy district.

The project is expected to be implemented in the 2025-2030 period if added to the adjusted Power Plan VIII.
