Pioneer in developing digital platforms
The 100-year journey of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press is a golden history, associated with the great historical milestones of the nation. Born from the establishment and training of Uncle Ho, with the ardent patriotism, under the leadership of the Party, the press has become a sharp weapon on the ideological front, fighting with the people for independence, building and defending the Fatherland. In particular, after April 30, 1975, the Ho Chi Minh City press quickly became one of the vanguard forces of the Party Committee, government and people of the city, bringing policies and guidelines to the people, contributing to the stability and development of the city.
Right after the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, in Ho Chi Minh City, many prestigious newspapers were born and published their first issues, such as: City Television Station (first broadcast on May 1, 1975), Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee (founded on May 5, 1975), Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper (founded on May 19, 1975), Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper (founded on July 28, 1975) or Tuoi Tre Newspaper (founded on September 2, 1975)... These newspapers not only promptly propagated major policies of the Central and local governments but also played a role in leading public opinion, discovering issues, protecting legitimate rights and encouraging the people's spirit.
Throughout the development of Ho Chi Minh City, the press has always stood side by side, reflecting all aspects of social life, from sustainable poverty reduction programs, building civilized and modern urban areas, to major socio-economic events, contributing to the process of economic and social recovery and development of the city in particular and the country in general.
The Ho Chi Minh City Press Center has effectively promoted its role as a bridge between the government and press agencies, becoming a trustworthy "common home", especially during the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, where information is transmitted officially, quickly, and promptly to orient public opinion and refute false and distorted information.

Ho Chi Minh City press is constantly changing, proactively integrating technology to bring information to the public in a diverse and attractive way. Many press agencies have pioneered the development of digital platforms, producing multimedia products such as podcasts, livestreams, infographics, videos , etc.
This not only demonstrates the city’s dynamism and sensitivity to current events, but also affirms the position of the city’s press in the modern information flow. The press awards on digital transformation organized by Ho Chi Minh City also show the government’s interest and encouragement in this field, promoting the press to become an important part in the city’s digital transformation process.
The 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press is also the time for the Ho Chi Minh City press to renew itself. In particular, the press must be steadfast in the face of technological storms, proactive in meeting the development requirements of society, and maintain the trust of readers. To do so, it requires synchronous investment from the government, socio-political organizations, and above all, the self-confidence of journalists.
Ho Chi Minh City press is always close to the people and sensitive to all social movements. From economic, cultural, social issues, all need to be reflected quickly, correctly, sufficiently and in depth. The city named after Uncle Ho is always a place to test innovative policies, and Ho Chi Minh City press is the solid bridge connecting innovative thinking and practical life.

Accompanying the government in building and perfecting institutions
The year 2025 is not only the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, but also the time when the whole country is accelerating the process of streamlining the state administrative apparatus. In this context, the Ho Chi Minh City press is facing new and important tasks, requiring flexibility and constant creativity. Streamlining the apparatus does not mean cutting functions, but is an opportunity for the press to improve operational efficiency, reduce overlap in content production, and move towards a professional, humane and modern press.
Ho Chi Minh City's press needs to become a social knowledge platform, contributing an honest voice and accompanying the government in innovative communication campaigns, building and perfecting institutions. In the context of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country urgently implementing the arrangement and reorganization of administrative units, innovating the organization of the political system, this is a historical task, an important and strategic issue to allocate resources and create new development space while aiming at the goal of building a Party committee and government close to the people, serving the people better, the press plays an increasingly important role, as a bridge, promptly conveying accurate and objective information, helping people understand policies, creating consensus and avoiding false and distorted information.
In the era of artificial intelligence (AI), Ho Chi Minh City press must strongly promote the role of "gatekeeper", fighting fake news, bad news and toxic news. This requires investment in information verification teams, in-depth editing and application of data processing technology to increase speed while still ensuring quality, accuracy and timeliness. It can be said that digital transformation is not only a trend, but also a "unique path" for Ho Chi Minh City press to maintain its position in a multi-dimensional media environment, where information spreads at a dizzying speed and with increasing complexity.
With the spirit of patriotism, confidence, autonomy, self-reliance, self-strengthening and national pride, Ho Chi Minh City press will continue to be a source of creativity, a trusted friend of readers. In the context of Vietnam striving to affirm its new position in the international arena - a responsible, creative and integrated country - Ho Chi Minh City press is not only an information tool but also a living, dynamic, in-depth and constantly changing entity; contributing to the creation of a civilized and modern society. With the companionship of the press, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to be the economic, cultural and social locomotive of the whole country, contributing to the prosperity and happiness of the people.
Entering the digital age, when technology completely changes the way people access information, Ho Chi Minh City press cannot stand aside. Newsrooms have quickly built a digital ecosystem with multiple platforms: e-newspapers, podcasts, livestreams, social networks... to adapt to new news access habits, especially of young people.
However, this transformation is not just about “going to the platform”, but a comprehensive transformation in journalistic thinking, organizational model and content production process. From “traditional newsroom” to “converged newsroom” - where editors are multi-taskers, reporters are also writers, editors, and content distributors - Ho Chi Minh City press is shouldering a heavy mission in the context of streamlining the apparatus while requiring absolute quality, speed and accuracy.
