According to Mr. Liem, jicama for Tet (Lunar New Year) is becoming increasingly popular, with many customers coming directly to his farm to buy and place orders before Tet. This year, customers from many places such as Hai Phong, Hanoi , and Quang Ninh have already bought all of his family's jicama for Tet, and he has never had to take it to the market to sell. Mr. Liem shared: "Growing jicama for Tet only requires a lot of care, but the cost is not much."

The jicama tubers grown by Mr. Liem's ​​family for Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations start in June of the lunar calendar. Harvesting requires great care to avoid damaging the roots.

This year's jicama is bigger and brighter in color than in previous years.

Many people buy jicama tubers to decorate their homes for Tet (Vietnamese New Year) because simply placing them in a vase of water will cause them to sprout beautiful new shoots.
