The total investment is estimated at VND 53,705.9 billion. The investor plans to mobilize 80% of the capital from commercial loans and other legal sources. It is expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2030.
The second is the 1,000 MW Offshore Wind Power Project in Bac Bo 8, which will also be implemented in the offshore area of Bac Bo, the sea area of Quang Ninh province, and will have an underground cable to bring electricity to shore. The 14th is the Nam Bo 2 Offshore Wind Power Project with a scale of 500 MW. The implementation location is the offshore area of Nam Bo, Ben Tre sea area of Vinh Long province. Electricity will be brought ashore via submarine cable. The total investment capital is 50,101 billion VND. The investor plans to mobilize 80% from commercial loans and other legal sources. Expected to operate in the fourth quarter of 2030.
Among the ministries that will have appraisal opinions, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as the State management agency, will give opinions on the Project's conformity with the National Power Development Strategy and Plan; project implementation progress, technology used; ability to connect to the power grid; electricity purchase and sale plan (if any); preliminary total investment and socio-economic efficiency of the Project; safety of equipment and works according to regulations in Clause 2, Article 26 of the Electricity Law; conditions of investors implementing offshore wind power projects and other contents related to the State management function undertaken by this Ministry.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has also requested the Institute of Energy to comment on the suitability of each project to national, regional and provincial planning related to the operational objectives and contents of the proposed investment project; to comment and take responsibility for the proposed location and site for implementing offshore wind power projects according to the established and approved planning.
Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) commented on the impact of each offshore wind power project on projects, areas, oil and gas exploration, exploitation and transportation works; other issues related to the oil and gas industry.
Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) commented on the impact of each offshore wind power project on the electricity price of the power system, the transmission capacity of the grid, and other issues under the responsibility and management of EVN.
The National Power System and Electricity Market Operation Company Limited will provide comments on the ability to mobilize and safely operate the power system when offshore wind power projects come into operation on schedule.
