This afternoon, April 14, Associate Professor - Dr. Luong Ngoc Khue, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management ( Ministry of Health ), signed and issued Official Dispatch 437/KCB-QLCL and CDT (hereinafter referred to as Official Dispatch 437) to hospitals and health departments of provinces and cities, requesting vigilance and review of charity fundraising activities.

In Official Dispatch 437, the leaders of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management requested management agencies and hospitals nationwide to review the activities of organizations and individuals calling for charitable donations to raise funds at hospitals for patients; promptly prevent acts of profiteering that affect the reputation of the unit.
Warning instructions for patients and people to be vigilant against fundraising activities, not to be taken advantage of and become the target of organizations and individuals profiting from charitable donations.
Comply with regulations on mobilizing, receiving, distributing and using voluntary contributions and instructions in Circular No. 43/2015/TT-BYT of the Minister of Health ; designate the hospital's social work department and team as the focal point for receiving support for cases in difficult circumstances...; publicly and transparently disclose charitable donations and cases that have received support.
The leaders of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management also requested that hospitals urgently implement and report to the direct management agency if they discover any units or individuals profiting from charity fundraising calls for timely handling.
Previously on April 13, Tuoi Tre Newspaper published an article titled “The money of philanthropists is gradually falling away” related to fundraising activities for patients. After receiving the above information and feedback from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management made the above proposal.
Recently, Ho Chi Minh City Children's Hospital also confirmed fake information, sharing false information to call for help for a girl diagnosed with meningitis, brain tumor, and urgent surgery, while in fact this child patient was not on the hospital's list.
