Banks and securities companies massively increase charter capital

The State Bank has just issued a document approving Lien Viet Post Joint Stock Commercial Bank (stock code LPB) to increase its charter capital by a maximum of VND 11,385.3 billion through the issuance of shares. Previously, the above capital increase plan was approved by the 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.

Specifically, LPB plans to issue an additional 1.1385 billion shares. Of which, 328.5 million shares will be issued to pay dividends to existing shareholders at a rate of 19%; 500 million shares will be offered to existing shareholders; 300 million shares will be offered privately to foreign investors; 10 million shares will be issued under the employee stock option program (ESOP). LPB's charter capital after this period will increase to VND28,676 billion.

Lien Viet Post Bank has been approved to increase its charter capital.

A "big" bank, Vietcombank , was also approved by the State Bank to increase its charter capital from VND 47,325 billion to VND 55,891 billion, according to the plan to issue shares to pay dividends from the remaining profits of 2019 and 2020. Previously, the 2022 Vietcombank Annual General Meeting of Shareholders approved the plan to issue nearly 856.6 million shares to pay dividends at a rate of 18.1% (shareholders owning 1,000 shares on the record date will receive 181 new shares).

Three major banks, VietinBank, BIDV and Agribank, also increased their charter capital according to information from the State Bank. For Agribank, at the end of April, the Government issued a Resolution on additional investment in charter capital for Agribank. The Governor of the State Bank, authorized by the Prime Minister, on behalf of the Government, reported to the National Assembly on additional charter capital for Agribank in the 2021-2023 period by an additional VND 17,100 billion...

In addition to the banking group, some securities companies have also proposed plans to increase capital. For example, Tien Phong Securities Joint Stock Company (code ORS) also plans to issue an additional 200 million shares to double its charter capital, from VND2,000 billion to VND4,000 billion. The capital increase will be carried out in two ways: issuing purchase rights to existing shareholders or offering privately.

Similarly, MB Securities Company (stock code MBS) announced the issuance of more than 57 million additional shares to pay dividends and from equity capital. After this issuance, MBS's charter capital increased from VND 3,806 billion to VND 4,377 billion, through the issuance of shares to pay dividends (rate of 12%) and the issuance of bonus shares from equity capital (rate of 3%). Or BIDV Securities Company (stock code BSC) plans to issue nearly 15 million shares, increasing its charter capital from VND 1,878 billion to nearly VND 2,028 billion; Ban Viet Securities Company (stock code VCI) has approved a plan to issue more than 100 million shares to pay dividends, at a rate of 30%, to increase its charter capital to more than VND 4,350 billion...
