With 29 years of establishment and development, Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) is one of the leading banks in providing diverse and absolutely safe services and products; owning modern information technology infrastructure; strongly expanding new market segments besides the traditional market of a commercial bank. With that advantage, MB has connected BaaS services to businesses from a variety of fields such as: Finance, logistics, securities... through more than 600 APIs - considered the bank with the most diverse amount of APIs.
BaaS service is known as a model that allows third-party partners to connect to the bank's system through API to directly provide financial-banking services to customers on that partner's application system/platform. For example, customers can deposit/withdraw money into their wallet, open savings deposits on e-wallets; pay by bank ATM cards on e-commerce platforms; even receive salary payments directly on the management system of the company they work for... In short, this is a business model that allows banks to provide their services to partners through API (Application Programming Interface - Application Programming Interface, providing a connection method so that remote applications can request services to the application system providing the service and from there can exchange data between systems with each other).
Globally , some banks that have strongly deployed BaaS include BBVA in Europe, DBS in Asia, and Goldman Sachs in the Americas. While BBVA uses APIs to allow companies to offer financial products without having to handle the entire banking process themselves, Goldman Sachs builds a new cloud-based infrastructure for accounts and payments. In Asia, Singapore's DBS - a pioneer in digital transformation - has deployed DBS RAPID - a digital solution that leverages API capabilities. DBS RAPID helps optimize workflows, enhance the power of the ecosystem through the ability to collaborate, integrate, and transact across multiple systems. This is a much more effective way than legacy platforms and technologies, saving costs and improving the customer experience.
For MB, the basic and essential services provided to customers include:
- Receive balance changes: Enterprises receive balance changes on accounts (real-time) right on the operating unit system.
- Collection/payment: Support collection/payment of money on Enterprise software.
- QR payment: Accept static/dynamic QR code scanning payments from all banking Apps in the Napas alliance.
- Collection via designated account: Transfer money to the designated account of the Enterprise (securities company, insurance company, B2B Enterprise...) from different bank accounts.
In addition, there are other advanced services that MB is ready to provide on the partner platform such as: Savings, certificates of deposit, consumer loans, credit cards and other services.
Possessing the most diverse APIs, with the BaaS service provided by MB, the enterprise's system will be directly integrated with MB's system in the shortest time (from 2 weeks to 1 month) at the lowest cost. Thanks to that, in addition to core business segments, enterprises have new products and services to provide to end users such as co-branded cards, banking application registration, savings deposits... right on the platforms of that enterprise, bringing new added value to the enterprise as well as enhancing the experience for end users.
Recently, although the Covid-19 pandemic has caused many negative consequences, from a certain perspective, we cannot deny its impact on the acceleration of online product-service models, or more specifically the BaaS model in the world and Vietnam. Along with the global trend in general and the benefits and core values brought to its customers in particular, MB's BaaS service is expected to gradually transform strongly, affirming its commitment to accompany businesses in the digital transformation process.
