Coast Guard Region 2 accompanies students overcoming difficulties in Binh Dinh

Attending the program were: Major General Tran Quang Tuan, Commander of Coast Guard Region 2; Colonel Le Huy, Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2; Comrade Nguyen Thi Bich Ly, Deputy Head of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee; representatives of local authorities of Hoai Hao commune; Hoai Nhon town; armed forces of Binh Dinh province and representatives of sponsors.

The contest “I love my homeland’s sea and islands” had the participation of nearly 100 outstanding students representing 3 secondary schools: Dao Duy Tu (Hoai Hao ward); Hoai Phu secondary school (Hoai Phu commune); Tam Quan secondary school (Tam Quan ward).

The contest took place enthusiastically through 4 parts: Going to sea; Overcoming waves; Arriving at port and Placing sovereignty markers, with knowledge about Vietnam's seas and islands, the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, tasks, functions and traditions of the Coast Guard force.

In his opening speech, Colonel Trieu Quang Quy, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Squadron 21, Command of Coast Guard Region 2, said: The contest is an opportunity for us to continueeducating and nurturing students' intelligence and personality, contributing to arousing their passion for learning, raising awareness and knowledge about sea and island sovereignty for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; equipping them with skills to prevent and combat school violence; preventing and combating drugs, the ability to protect themselves from temptations; and enhancing civic responsibility for the young generation right from when they are still in school.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 1 third prize, and 7 consolation prizes to the students.

On this occasion, the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 presented gifts to 3 secondary schools: Dao Duy Tu; Hoai Phu; Tam Quan, and awarded 45 scholarships and 24 bicycles to disadvantaged students of the schools.

On the same day, the working delegation of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command organized a flower offering ceremony at the Hoai Hao Ward Martyrs Cemetery; visited and presented gifts to Hoai Hao Ward (Hoai Nhon Town, Binh Dinh Province).
