(CPV) - On November 27, information from Saigon Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SCB) said that the unit will temporarily stop implementing Internet Banking services for individual customers, starting from December 12.

To continue making online transactions, SCB Bank recommends customers to use SCB Mobile Banking service. Note, customers need to use identification documents such as citizen identification cards with chips to register and use SCB Mobile Banking service.
Previously, SCB also announced the temporary suspension of the new SCB Premier Membership ranking policy from November 10 and the exclusive incentives for premium banking service members - SCB Premier, from December 10. The collection of fees for customers using products and services from December is applied according to SCB's current policy.
Along with suspending many services, SCB has been continuously closing transaction offices across the country. Since June last year, the bank has closed a total of 130 transaction offices. At one point, the bank closed 16 transaction offices at the same time.
Most recently, on November 1, SCB announced the closure of 4 transaction offices in 4 different provinces and cities, including: Ba Dinh Transaction Office - Thang Long Branch, Hanoi City; Tan Quy Transaction Office - Tan Dinh Branch, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City; Go Cong Transaction Office - Tien Giang Branch, Thuan An Transaction Office - Binh Duong Branch.
In addition, this bank regularly changes the limit for withdrawing money from cards and the limit for quick money transfers via Napas 247. For quick money transfers, the limit is adjusted from a maximum of VND200 million/time/day/customer to VND100 million/time/day/customer on August 15; down to VND50 million/time/customer on August 23 and down to VND10 million/day/customer on September 12; then increased again to VND100 million/time/day/customer on September 30.
On November 11, the maximum Napas 247 fast money transfer transaction limit for each individual customer is 50 million VND/time/day/customer, applied to counter transaction channels and SCB eBanking channels.
In 2022, the State Bank announced its decision to take special control of SCB to stabilize the bank's operations. The State Bank's special control of a credit institution is a professional measure in accordance with the law to strictly control and limit negative impacts on that credit institution and the system of credit institutions.
The State Bank also selects and appoints experienced, capable, and professionally qualified officials from Vietcombank, BIDV, VietinBank, and Agribank to participate in the management and operation of SCB./.
