Sponsored by the Vietnam Banking Association, GreenNode ( VNG 's AI Cloud unit) in collaboration with NVIDIA and VAST Data recently organized a workshop on enhancing the financial sector's capacity through AI applications in Ho Chi Minh City. The event gathered more than 100 bank leaders to participate in the discussion.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh - Head of the Representative Office of the Vietnam Banks Association in Ho Chi Minh City said: “Applying AI in digital transformation is the key to helping banks make breakthroughs in the digital era. However, this process requires long-term investment and a comprehensive strategy. The Association accompanies banks to raise awareness and share practical experiences. We also support the implementation of policies of the Government and the State Bank, towards a modern, safe and sustainable digital financial ecosystem."
At the workshop, experts from GreenNode, VNG Cloud and TrueID shared many in-depth AI solutions, helping to upgrade banking and finance industry operations (BFSI), optimize customer experience and create outstanding competitive advantages.
“Facing the AI wave, VNG does not wait but takes proactive action. We choose a bold approach: small investment, step by step, rapid deployment in many fields, prioritizing user value. It is difficult to demonstrate immediate financial efficiency with breakthrough technology like AI. But I believe that when AI costs increase but bring truly useful features to end users, that is the measure of efficiency, and at the same time transforms into long-term value for the business," said Mr. Le Hong Minh, founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of VNG.
As a preferred cloud service partner of NVIDIA, GreenNode has the advantage of early access to NVIDIA's new generation of GPUs, aiming to become the leading AI solution provider in Vietnam and the region. Using high-end GPUs from L40S, A40 to H100, combined with advanced InfiniBand network infrastructure, GreenNode allows banks to process big data efficiently, while expanding the ability to refine and deploy AI models on demand, increasing the flexibility in the digital transformation strategy of financial institutions.
In addition, GreenNode also develops integrated AI solutions, helping to thoroughly solve the challenge of unstructured data, which accounts for up to 80% of the total data in banks. GreenNode's Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solution has helped banks effectively process more than 200 types of documents, reduce 70% of data entry errors and ⅓ of staff working time, saving more than 2,000 working days and tens of billions of VND each year.
In addition, in the context of increasingly strict legal regulations on electronic identification, TrueID's comprehensive Digital Identity Platform solution integrating eKYC, video KYC, biometric authentication and NFC has also supported more than 35 banks to synchronize customer data. The results recorded a 90% identification rate and 82% automatic approval, helping banks open accounts quickly and safely. At the same time, the centralized identification system plays an important role in the bank's digital ecosystem, helping banks expand services & authenticate multi-channel identities, both online and offline.
"AI is not just a technology story, but how we bring real value to customers in the finance and banking industry from improving experience, preventing fraud, to optimizing operations. And with the solid technical foundation of Vietnamese enterprises, I believe that understanding the market problem will help create breakthrough solutions, meeting urgent needs such as smart document processing or electronic identification", Mr. Vu Thanh Tung, GreenNode Product Director emphasized.
In recent years, the Vietnamese Government has also promoted digital transformation of the financial sector through Project 06 (coordinating with the Ministry of Public Security and the State Bank on population data and electronic identification) and Circular 50 (requiring identification and biometric authentication).
According to a PwC report conducted globally, AI helps increase work efficiency by nearly 40%, cut costs and improve customer experience in the banking and finance industry. Gartner shows that more than 90% of bank leaders worldwide consider AI an investment priority by 2027, affirming the strategic role of this technology.
