In recent days, on some Facebook social networking sites, information has been posted summarizing the recruitment needs of preschool and secondary education officials in Nghe An in 2025. These sites also provide exam preparation materials for teachers who need to be recruited.
Mr. Thai Van Thanh, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An, said that the information about teacher recruitment posted on social networking sites is not accurate. Currently, after implementing the 2-level local government, there is no document guiding the unit recruiting civil servants of the education sector. Therefore, at this time, Nghe An has no plan to recruit teachers from kindergarten to secondary school.

“Currently, there is a great shortage of foreign language and information technology teachers in mountainous communes. Therefore, if management is decentralized, there is a policy of recruitment and temporary reinforcement or 5-year recruitment in mountainous areas and they will be arranged to return to their hometowns after completing their tasks, the shortage of teachers while lacking local training resources will be overcome. In addition, if we regulate and balance the staffing and teachers between all levels of education and educational institutions in the whole province, it will ensure effective and quality operations, limiting the waste of human resources in the whole industry,” said Mr. Thanh.
In the 2025-2026 school year, Nghe An province still lacks more than 4,000 teachers at preschool and secondary levels to meet the required teacher/class ratio. In particular, the shortage of teachers for gifted subjects (Music, Fine Arts, Information Technology, Foreign Languages), and new subjects of the 2018 General Education Program (Natural Sciences , History and Geography, Experiential Activities - Career Guidance) is common in many schools.

In early July, the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An also sent a document requesting the Provincial People's Committee to base on Decree No. 142/2025/ND-CP dated June 12, 2025 of the Government regulating the division of authority of local authorities at two levels in the field of state management of the Ministry of Education and Training, related regulations and the actual situation of the locality to consider assigning authority to perform personnel work in the education and training sector, in time to prepare for the new school year from August 15.
It is necessary to unify the work of appointing, mobilizing, rotating, using, recruiting, and seconding teachers among educational institutions not in the same commune.
In the immediate future, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training recommends that in August 2025, all assigned positions be recruited to be placed in educational institutions with serious shortages. During the implementation process, it will review and transfer seconded teachers whose secondment period has not yet ended (due to transfer from July 1) back to their previous work units.
