Affirming the quality of key education

The province currently has 627 educational facilities from preschool to high school, which are arranged reasonably and compactly, ensuring the right to study of students in all localities. The rate of schools meeting national standards is 92.07%, expected to exceed 92.5% by the end of 2025; the number of solid classrooms is 95.8%, an increase of nearly 4% compared to 2024.

Many localities have proactively invested in subject classrooms and teaching equipment to meet the requirements of teaching 2 sessions/day and implementing the 2018 General Education Program. This is an important foundation to promote the quality of education in general and key education in particular.

For two consecutive years (2024, 2025), Quang Ninh maintained its 8th position out of 63 provinces and cities (old) in the national high school excellent student exam - the highest ranking ever. In the 2025 national high school excellent student exam alone, Quang Ninh won 88 prizes, an increase of 3 prizes compared to the previous year, the highest ever, including 2 first prizes, 27 second prizes, 30 third prizes, and 29 consolation prizes. Quang Ninh continued to maintain its excellent position in the 8th position in the group of 10 provinces and cities with the highest number of prizes won in the country; in the 2024-2025 school year, the number of first prizes continued to be maintained, an increase of 4 second prizes, and 2 third prizes compared to the previous school year; the rate of students winning prizes accounted for 80% of the contestants, the highest ever.

Also in this school year, the province has 5 students (3 more than the previous school year) summoned by the Ministry of Education and Training to participate in the 2025 Regional and International Olympic Team Selection Exam; 2 students were selected to participate in the Regional and International Olympic Competitions in Informatics and Chemistry. Results: Trinh Viet Hoang (student of Ha Long High School for the Gifted) won the Silver Medal at the Abu Rayhan-Biruni International Chemistry Olympiad 2025; Ninh Quang Thang (student of Ha Long High School for the Gifted) won the Bronze Medal at the Asia- Pacific Informatics Olympiad, the Bronze Medal at the 37th International Olympiad (IOI) in Bolivia. These are special achievements that are meaningful not only to individual students, but also the common pride of the province; showing the right steps in the province's educational investment strategy over the past years.

Constantly innovating and affirming its position on the national education map, Ha Long Specialized High School always affirms the title of "leading flag" in the province's key education. In the 2024-2025 school year, the school has 88 students winning national student awards, 1 silver medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad, 1 bronze medal at the International Informatics Olympiad. Ms. Do Thi Dieu Thuy, Principal of the school, said: The school always creates the best conditions for students to develop their outstanding abilities in subjects, thereby being confident and asserting themselves in the national and international arena.

To have excellent students, the province always pays attention to training teachers, especially key teachers who train teams for excellent student competitions. Up to now, over 98% of teachers at all levels in the province have reached the standard and above standard level, much higher than the national average. The whole province has 121 teachers who have been awarded the title of People's Teacher, Excellent Teacher; thousands of teachers have achieved the title of emulation fighter at all levels, excellent teachers at the provincial level and many other noble titles and awards.

In the context of globalization and strong digital transformation, investment in key education is of particular significance. Quang Ninh is affirming its position as one of the country's centers for training high-quality human resources.
