FPT School Hai Phong trains nearly 100 teachers on 'Day of AI Vietnam'

On the morning of November 8, the training workshop "Day of AI Vietnam - Responsible AI Learning and Teaching" organized byFPT Secondary and High School (FPT School Hai Phong) in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training of Hai Phong took place successfully with the participation of nearly 100 teachers from 5 primary and secondary schools in Do Son ward.

This event is part of the “Day of AI Vietnam” project - an educational initiative of FPT Schools in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The program aims to build a future generation of citizens with enough knowledge, skills and ethical awareness to not only adapt but also proactively shape the rapidly developing world of artificial intelligence (AI).

Attending the training workshop, on behalf of the Department of Education and Training of the city, there was Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, on behalf of Do Son ward, there was Mr. Le Quoc Tien - Member of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Do Son ward, Mr. Pham Hoang Tuan - Member of the Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Do Son ward, Ms. Nguyen Thi Uoc - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Party Building Committee. On behalf of FPT School Hai Phong, there was Mr. Pham Hong Khoa - Vice Principal of the School and teachers participating in the training.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Pham Hoang Tuan - Member of the Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Do Son Ward affirmed the importance of bringing AI into general education. The implementation of the Day of AI program is not only a pioneering step of FPT Schools but also an important step forward for the Hai Phong education sector in the process of comprehensive digital transformation.

Mr. Pham Hoang Tuan - Member of the Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Do Son Ward People's Committee delivered the opening speech at the workshop.

At the program, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh - representative of the Department of Education and Training of Hai Phong City brought an overview of "AI and the future of Hai Phong Education", emphasizing that the application of AI not only helps innovate teaching methods, but also opens up opportunities to develop creativity, critical thinking and adaptability for students in the context of globalization.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh - representative of the Department of Education and Training of Hai Phong City gave an overview of "AI and the future of Hai Phong Education Industry".

Mr. Pham Hong Khoa - Vice Principal of FPT School Hai Phong especially emphasized the role of AI tools and how to use AI responsibly towards the community.

Continuing the program, MSc. Nguyen Xuan Khiem - Member of FPT Schools Technology Council, Head of FPT School Hai Phong Natural Science Group shared specifically and deeply about the Day of AI Vietnam project.

Accordingly, the program has a system of theories and practical exercises that are vivid, easy to understand, and accessible even to non-technological people. The lectures are localized, adjusted and supplemented from the international Day of AI documents, divided into modules suitable for the grade level and age, suitable for teachers to use as teaching materials, visual illustrations right in the lessons on Information Technology, Technology, STEM...

MSc. Nguyen Xuan Khiem - Member of FPT Schools Technology Council, Head of FPT School Hai Phong Natural Science Group shared specifically and deeply about the Day of AI Vietnam project.

The intensive training session was guided by Ms. Phan Thi Thuy - IT teacher of FPT School Hai Phong, with the content of teaching the Day of AI program for primary and secondary schools. Teachers attending experienced practical activities, group discussions and learned how to integrate AI content into the current curriculum. The training session took place in an open, creative and inspiring atmosphere.

The program is expected to be expanded to many other localities in the coming time, contributing to bringing Hai Phong city in particular and Vietnam in general closer to the goal of educational innovation associated with technology and human values.

Hai Phong is the first locality where FPT Schools has implemented the Day of AI Vietnam training program and aims to share 1 million free AI learning accounts on the online learning platform Coursera by 2027. In Hai Phong alone, the program will provide 50,000 accounts to students and teachers.
