At the media session, Dr. Hua Thi Le, an employee of Hanh Thong Ward Health Station, provided a lot of important information related to the harmful effects of using traditional cigarettes and electronic cigarettes on health. According to Dr. Le, cigarette smoke contains more than 7,000 chemicals, including at least 70 carcinogens. Smoking increases the risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cardiovascular disease, lung cancer and seriously affects the health of people around through passive smoking.
In particular, the doctor emphasized electronic cigarettes, a product that is becoming popular among young people thanks to its compact design, fragrance, and eye-catching packaging. Many students mistakenly believe that this is a "safe" or "non-addictive" product. However, electronic cigarette essential oils still contain nicotine, a highly addictive substance, along with many toxic chemicals that affect the respiratory system and brain function. Regular use can cause memory loss, reduced concentration, and reduced learning efficiency.

Students listen attentively to propaganda about the harmful effects of tobacco.
Along with medical knowledge, students are also informed about the provisions of the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms, which prohibits smoking on school grounds. A school representative said that the school will strictly handle violations and at the same time strengthen propaganda activities and educate students on self-protection skills against sophisticated solicitations and advertisements on social networks.
During the Q&A session, many students actively asked questions and shared their thoughts on the current situation of e-cigarette use among young people. They said they would be “advocacy ambassadors” to spread the message of healthy living and saying no to cigarettes and e-cigarettes.
The communication session contributes to raising awareness, building a safe and friendly school environment, towards a healthy, smoke-free young generation.
