The launching of the UK - Vietnam EmpowerTNE Network took place within the framework of the UK-ASEAN Future Education Roadshow organized by the British Embassy in collaboration with the British Business Association in Vietnam (BritCharm).
The event was attended by representatives of management agencies, universities, business communities and educational organizations at home and abroad, opening a series of educational cooperation activities between the two countries.
In the context of upgrading bilateral cooperation, the UK - Vietnam EmpowerTNE Network is positioned as an infrastructure connecting policy - academics - resources, creating a regular coordination mechanism between management agencies, Vietnamese and UK universities with international organizations, aiming to standardize and improve the quality of transnational education implementation according to international practices.
The Network's main activities include: Improving the capacity of training institutions to implement transnational education programs (sharing experiences, training staff, perfecting operational tools and quality assurance standards); expanding academic exchanges (joint programs, credit recognition, student and lecturer exchanges, co-directing research); enhancing policy dialogue to help standardize processes, promote digital transformation and effectively use resources between the two education systems.
With such a framework and orientation, the Network needs a transparent and unified coordination mechanism to translate cooperation commitments into concrete results. That is also the role of the coordination unit in the first year of operation.

In the first year of operation, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Phu Khanh - Deputy General Director of Phenikaa University was elected by representatives of member schools as Chairman of the UK - Vietnam EmpowerTNE Network.
Currently, the Network consists of 12 member universities: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, National Economics University, University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University), Banking Academy, Foreign Trade University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University),FPT Greenwich University Vietnam, Phenikaa University.
As the Network Chair, Phenikaa University is responsible for general coordination in the launch phase, contributing to orienting and promoting the activities of the EmpowerTNE Network to become practical and effective.
Immediately following the launch, the Network will review and evaluate the proposed activities to agree on the implementation plan for the 2025–2026 period. Practical activities will begin as early as the fourth quarter of 2025, aiming for first results in the first half of 2026.
