
On the evening of November 10, the Executive Committee of the Federation of Vietnamese Associations in the Federal Republic of Germany coordinated with the Vietnamese Embassy to hold a meeting to summarize two fundraising campaigns to support people affected by storms and floods in the country.
Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Quang Anh, Vice President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Federal Republic of Germany, Head of the Fundraising Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Hien, Honorary President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Federal Republic of Germany; and Mr. Dang Hoang Linh, Counselor of the Embassy of Vietnam in Germany.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Anh's report, responding to the call of the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany and the Vietnamese Association in the Federal Republic of Germany, during two fundraising campaigns starting from October 5, the Vietnamese Association in the Federal Republic of Germany has mobilized a total of more than 4 billion 177 million VND from the Vietnamese Embassy, Vietnamese organizations and associations in Germany, businesses, individuals... to support people affected by floods in the country.
The initial amount of more than 3 billion 757 million VND was presented to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on October 24 by Mr. Nguyen Van Hien, General Director of Dong Xuan-Berlin Trade Center, former President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Federal Republic of Germany, on behalf of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany, to promptly support compatriots in the country to overcome the consequences of storms No. 10 and 11.
The second donation of 420 million VND will continue to be transferred by Mr. Nguyen Quang Anh to the Central Committee of the Fatherland Front in the coming days.
At the summary meeting, Mr. Nguyen Quang Anh respectfully thanked the great contributions of the Vietnamese community in Germany, local associations and organizations, and especially the support of the Vietnamese Embassy, which helped this movement achieve results beyond expectations.
He emphasized that this event helps the Vietnamese community get closer together, unite to build a strong community, develop together, integrate into the second homeland and always look towards the first homeland - Vietnam.
Former President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Federal Republic of Germany Nguyen Van Hien shared that as an enterprise, he is proud to join hands and efforts with the Vietnamese community in Germany - a community of solidarity, mutual love and always at the forefront worldwide in donation movements to support the homeland.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy, Minister Counselor Dang Hoang Linh expressed his deep gratitude for the great contributions of the Vietnamese community in Germany whenever our compatriots in the country face difficulties due to natural disasters, in line with the fine tradition of "Mutual love - Helping each other" of the Vietnamese people.
He also affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy will always accompany the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Federal Republic of Germany in these very meaningful social activities.
In addition to organizing a fundraising event at the Dong Xuan-Berlin Trade Center on October 5, regardless of the long distance and unfavorable weather, the fundraising committee headed by Mr. Nguyen Quang Anh, together with Mr. Pham Huy Phuong, Permanent Member of the Community Work Committee of the Vietnamese Embassy, directly accompanied the fundraising delegations to each business, each house... to mobilize the largest amount of donations to help our compatriots in the country overcome difficulties.
