On November 11, the People's Committee of Kim Ngan Commune ( Quang Tri ) said it was considering a plan to allow Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue, Vice Principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School, to return to work after a temporary suspension related to the school food poisoning incident that hospitalized dozens of students in September.

According to the leader of Kim Ngan commune, Ms. Hue 's second suspension will end on November 13. Based on current regulations, the suspension cannot be extended more than twice, so until the official investigation is concluded, Ms. Hue will be allowed to return to work as usual.

In order to ensure stability in the school, the Commune People's Committee worked with the Board of Directors, suggesting that a meeting be held with parents, village elders, and village chiefs to inform and clearly propagate legal regulations, avoiding causing panic. At the same time, the Commune also recommended rearranging work, not assigning Ms. Hue to be in charge of the boarding kitchen until the case is concluded.

The local government said it has sent a document requesting that the relevant agencies soon have investigation results to clarify responsibilities, thereby creating conditions for the school and the government to stabilize management and teaching work.

Earlier, on the morning of September 26, after having breakfast at school, 40 students showed signs of nausea and stomachache and were taken to the emergency room. Test results from the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang showed that out of 4 food samples, 1 sample tested positive for Bacillus cereus bacteria, a type of bacteria that often exists in soil, dust, and water and can cause poisoning if cooked food is left at room temperature for a long time.

The incident became noisy when a clip appeared that allegedly showed Ms. Hue preventing the poisoned student from being taken to the emergency room.

After the incident, the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune issued two consecutive suspension decisions for Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue to serve the verification and clarification of the case.
